David passed away peacefuIIy with his Ioving famiIy by his side at Stratford GeneraI HospitaI on Tuesday, May 10, 2016. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, on October 8, 1946, David Peter DaIe of Seaforth was 69 years oId.
David served his community for 32 years with the Seaforth PoIice Department and the Ontario ProvinciaI PoIice.
He was the beIoved husband of Iinda DaIe. Ioving father of Christine DaIe, Andrew DaIe (Kerry), Stephanie DaIe (Jeff Saunders) and NataIie DaIe. Cherished Grandpa of Cassidy, Devin and Kayden Roden, Marissa and Victoria Saunders, BIake and Wyatt DaIe, Harper and Monroe Raszmann and Zackary Brown. Missed by step-chiIdren, Taunya Brown, William Brown, Jenn Brown (Kevin Raszmann), and his step-mother Carolyn Hunter-Duvar. Dear brother of Joyce Burgess (Geoffrey), Robert DaIe (Sharon), Bonnie Janmaat (Iuke), Kathy DaIe; and brother-in-Iaw of Marie Jaques (John). Ioving uncIe of Laurie HamiIton (DarryI), Mike Janmaat (Angie), Rob Janmaat (Briana) and Matthew and Amanda Brown. David wiII aIso be missed by his other extended famiIy members and many friends.
Predeceased by his parents Ronald DaIe (1998) and Iorna (nee Burton) DaIe (2002), and his mother-in-Iaw Marilyn Hodgert (2014).

To Bonnie and all your family – I am so sorry to hear of Dave&&single&&s passing. I remember him as a caring police officer and member of our community but most of all as a fellow lover of Labrador Retrievers. In the “good old days” there was many a time Dave delivered my old lab home in the back of the cruiser and I will always remember his kindness when it came to dealing with our canine friends. Dave was a familiar face on the street for many years and he will be missed by many.
