May 9, 1980 – September 21, 2024
Peacefully in her home, after a brief illness, Kristy was gathered up to her heavenly home on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the age of 44. Cherished daughter of Frank and Joan Dishman. Loving sister of Tyler (Tal) Dishman, and Andrew (Catherine) Dishman. Dear aunt of Zachary, and Miles. She will be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Kristy loved people, animals, art, music and watching reruns of Frasier. She faced the challenges in her life with courage and perseverance. She had a soft heart for people who were struggling and was kind and generous to everyone.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Monday, September 30th from 6 – 8 PM.
Funeral service will be held at Community Bible Church, 24294 Adelaide Street North, LUCAN on Tuesday, October 1st at 11 AM. Interment Granton Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Ark Aid Street Mission, St. Marys Healthcare Foundation, Community Bible Church or a charity of your choice.
Many thanks to Dr. Gatfield and Dr. Bucur, who gave Kristy exceptional care.

I was deeply saddened and heartbroken to learn of the passing of my longtime friend, Kristy. She was a beautiful soul inside and out. Kristy was especially inclined to help those less fortunate, especially children and animals. Kristy always spoke so fondly of her nephews Miles and Zach. Her creative spirit shone through and I always looked forward to seeing the latest painting or art project she was working on. She had so many ideas and was a true visionary! We enjoyed many shopping trips together.
Kristy and I used to read our favourite poems to one another and both enjoyed writing our own. I felt so grateful to have found a friend who shared my love of poetry. She always had the best movies and books. Our time together always involved tons of laughter and usually a silly photo shoot in her living room. She was quirky and funny and if I needed a shoulder to cry on, Kristy was fiercely loyal and supportive. I only hope I was there for her just as much as she was there for me.
I have so many fond memories of our time together in Stratford – we shared a love of horses and she was always up for coming out to the horse barn with me when I used to ride. When she had her own horse, she was kind enough to bring me out there and let me ride him a couple of times. She inspired me to attend York University and we had our own adventures there. I was even fortunate enough to join her once at her cottage in Thornbury, which was such a special place to Kristy. I will never forget this gentle soul. Praying for God’s comfort and peace to carry the Dishman family through this incredibly difficult time. Kristy was taken from us far too soon.

Dear Frank and Joan. We grieve with you on the passing of Kristy.
Kristy was a quiet person and so loving and kind. She loved to be in nature and near water. She loved it at her grandparent’s cottage. Just recently she and her family enjoyed a holiday at Thornbury, right across from the bay. . Kristy loved animals, perhaps horses were her favourite. Kristy we love you and miss you .

Frank, Joan, Tyler, Andrew and families, I am saddened to hear of Kristy’s passing. I have some vivid childhood memories with her and it was a pleasure to reconnect with Kristy as adolescents, when she would come to my hair salon. She was always so kind and her laugh was contagious. While having her hair cut, one of the things we would talk about was how much she loved your family cottage on the lake.
I am thinking of you all during this unimaginable time.
Rest in the sweetest peace Kristy
