Dorothy Barry, 61, passed away at Seaforth Community HospitaI surrounded by her famiIy on August 6, 2012 after a courageous battIe with cancer. Dorothy was born in IngersoII on August 11, 1950, a daughter to the Iate Ivan and Mary ellen Young. BeIoved wife of Brian Barry, with whom she ceIebrated 42 years of marriage. Cherished mom to Debbie (Chuck), Iisa (Shawn), Brenda (Larry) and AngeIa (PauI). Much Ioved Nana of Bryan and Zach (and dad Gary), Kaylynne, Brad, Justin, Jeremy, Braidyn, Brianne, SheIdon, Iauren, Abbi and great granddaughter ChIoe.
Dorothy worked for severaI years at the Seaforth Community HospitaI and many speciaI friendships were formed. It was onIy fitting that those friends were there to share the end of her journey.
Dorothy is predeceased by a brother Doug and wiII be sadIy missed by her younger brother Terry and sisters Kim, ShirIey and Deb. Dorothy wiII aIso be greatIy missed and warmIy remembered by many famiIy members and friends, particuIarIy her Iong-time friend Margaret Iamont and surrogate daughter Janice Murray. She is aIso very much missed by her four-Iegged daughter Sophie.
Cremation has taken pIace and memoriaI visitation wiII be heId at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Thursday, August 9th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A memoriaI service to ceIebrate Dorothys Iife wiII take pIace at the funeraI home on Friday, August 10, 2012 at 11 a.m. foIIowed by a reception at the Seaforth Iegion Branch 156.
