Jean Irene Drager (née Bennewies) of Seaforth, passed away at Clinton Public Hospital, on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the age of 86. Throughout the seasons, Jean’s amazing green thumb aided her in sowing countless seeds and tending a myriad of plants, in her beautiful gardens. More importantly, throughout her life, Jean sowed countless seeds of love and encouraged ways of caring and kindness within the circle of her family and friends.
Jean will be lovingly remembered by her husband Wilfred, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage, striding through the ups and downs of life together as a team. Warm memories of a much loved mother remain with their children Bryan and Sylvia Drager of Saskatoon, Janet and Larry Penno of Seaforth and Larry and Colleen Drager of Saskatoon. Cherishing the blessings of a loving grandmother are grandchildren Christopher and Stacey, Carla and Scott, Adam and Jenn, Kathryn, and great grandchildren Brody and Blakelyn. Left to reminisce days gone by are siblings and siblings-in-law Cheryl and Earl Rock, Marjorie Bennewies, Earl and Laura Bennewies, Norleen Bennewies, many nieces and nephews and all those who belong to the large circle of relations that shape the Drager family.
In faith, we trust Jean’s spirit is reunited in eternal life with her parents Norman and Adeline (née Messerschmidt) Bennewies, siblings and siblings-in-law Harold Bennewies, Elaine and Roy Bossence, Willard Bennewies and Ray Bennewies.
Visitation will take place at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A private family funeral service will be held. Spring interment will take place in Harpurhey Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Egmondville United Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Uncle Wilfred and family,
We are so sorry for the loss of Aunt Jean. Growing up next door, she was always a friendly smile in the driveway, our first stop on Halloween, and so helpful when I started gardens of my own (her plants always arrived with lots of care instructions she passed on through Mom). You’re in our thoughts during this difficult time.

My sincere sympathy to Wilf and the Drager families. Jean always had a warm handshake and smile at the door of EUC and I know her contributions to the plant sale and horticultural events have resulted in many beautiful gardens and flowerbeds in Egmondville and beyond.
