With his family by his side George Eisenschink passed away in his 87th year on June 16, 2021. George was born in Mitterfecking, Germany and grew up in the midst of WWII. At the age of 18 and speaking no English, George immigrated to Canada for a better life. He eventually settled in Exeter, Ontario where he started his own logging business, Eisenschink Logging Company, and met the love of his life, Barbara. After the birth of their 4 children, George and Barb bought farmland and built the “ponderosa” to raise their children, some crops and a collection of farm animals. George continued to log well into his 70s and following her retirement, Barb worked by his side. Alzheimers eventually took the man we all knew and loved. George is predeceased by his parents, 7 siblings and parents-in-law. He leaves behind his wife (of 60 years) Barb; children Heidi Soudant (Dennis Regnier), Diane Maguire (Shane), Dennis, Linda Moody (Jeff); grandchildren Ashley Soudant (Jeff Valley), Jennifer Soudant (Jordan Earhart), Ryan Maguire (Asher), Colin Maguire and Kole Eisenschink; four-legged companions Max and Bear; brother-in-laws and their wives (Moore family) and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the staff at Huronview for the special care they gave George in the last few months of his life.
A private family funeral will be held following cremation. Inurnment Exeter Cemetery. Haskett Funeral Home, EXETER entrusted with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or Stratford Perth Humane Society.

Earl and I are thinking of you Barb @ this time of great sorrow and loss. So true that have always been at George’s side for 60 years. What a wonderful life and love you had together. We had many little visits as neighbours at the trailer. Our fur family loved to play together. George was a very friendly kind neighbour,( as of course were you). He and Earl often shared a beverage and enjoyed time under your shade tree.
We pray the company and support of friends and family will carry you through this time of grief and sorrow.

George and Barb have been very good friends with Arnold and me for many, many years. George and Arnold coached soccer for several years. The kids loved George. George would always be ready to referee a game of soccer if we were in desperate need. He was always ready to help when needed. We bowled together, spent time with them at the Old Homestead, lots of good times. George was such a vital, funnyman, and I will really miss him. Rest In Peace George! Say hi to Arnold.

Dear Barb and Family,
Thinking Of You and remembering George, what a pleasure to have known him.
The summer trips to the trailer were always a treat as he loved to tease our girls and he always had some entertaining stories to tell us, (probably with some added details).
May your memories of your devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend bring you all peace and comfort in the days ahead.
