Dear Shirley and family,we go way back to days of Gordon arriving to do chores across the road from our place and specially the announcement of his arrival by the large back fire of the old Fargo truck with no muffler, also much time at mealtimes where a quick lunch would joyously become an hour and a half listening to stories and tales of days gone by then. We looked forward to seeing Gordon and Shirley in Stratford on Friday nights (date / shopping ) where it was McDonald’s then to the mall. Thanks for all fantastic memories will treasure them for ever.

Lorne & Margaret Hern
Dear Shirley & Family,
As Jim and Elaine have shared, we hear the laughter. My first thought on reading Gordon’s notice was , ” Won’t Elson, and Dad be having a grand time now that Gordon has joined them.” I can hear the laughter,– see Gordon slapping his knee with a great chuckle. A wonderful memory . I also hear his voice lifted in song once more. Just two years ago at Bob Hern’s funeral Lorne & I were seated near Gordon and Shirley and his beautiful voice brought tears to my eyes . The music filling my heart with memories . Thank you Gordon……for laughter and music shared.
Sincerely,
Lorne & Margaret

My first meeting of Gordie was back in the day when Rob and l started to trap muskrat and beaver back at the bush and we eventually hunted deer . Gordie kept us well informed of any large antlers passing through . He has a heart of gold and so gentle of a man . He will be missed by all who knew him .
