100 years of a life well-lived, rooted deep in faith and family, that describes Mabel to many people in the community of Lucan as well as her family. She held the pulse on all things happening at the church whether it was the UCW or the Couples Club, Sunday school or CGIT. She treated me like a niece, We have always kept in contact the old fashioned way by cards and Christmas letters. She will be greatly missed in our Froats family and the community of Lucan for sure. Rest In the sweetest Peace Mabel ❤️

Dear Family,
It is about two years since I first began some “COVID” chats with Mabel. I had shared some of my personal reflections in the Villages Ministry worship packs and your Mother would call to thank me for sharing. She would always offer a tidbit of information that added to my thoughts or comment on how she was enjoying playing the hymn selections offered. It was my pleasure to get to know her just a little. I hope my letters and the worship packs offered a few hours of study to her ordered day. During our last telephone chat she shared her concern about having to now depend on her family for some assistance. She thought it unfair that she would take time away from your personal lives. I told your Mother her family would be feeling honoured to be part of her care now and she was being given a wonderful gift. I heard a smile in her voice as she replied, ” Well that is something new to consider.” Our simple contacts were a gift to me. I hope to her as well. For almost two years we were old fashioned pen pals. Blessings to all of you.
Sincerely Margaret Hern
