Passed away peacefully at LHSC – University Hospital on July 16, 2021 at age of 92. She had a strong faith. Jesus came and took her home to heaven. She is at peace now and free of pain.
Marie was a loving Mom to Anne Marie, Linda (Lawrence) Ludwar, Paul (Beth) and a son who wishes to be unidentified. She was a proud Grandma to Callum (Nancy), Correy (Jon) and Emilie and Great-Grandma to Ashton and Ava. She will be deeply missed by her brothers Craig Near and Allen (Joyce) King, her proxy brother/cousin Wayne (Diana) King, nieces, nephews, cousins and MANY loving friends. She was predeceased by her beloved grandson Craig Ludwar in 2019.
Marie was a warm, loving, compassionate ‘people person’ who cared deeply for all she met and treated everyone like family. She was very involved with Community Living in South Huron and loved volunteering at the Arc Angels store in Dashwood and being the ‘book lady’ at the Crediton Library for many years.
A graveside service will be held at Crediton Cemetery on Tuesday, Septemeber 21st at 1PM.
Since Marie was very supportive of mental health, the family would greatly appreciate donations to Indwell in memory of Craig and Marie.

Marie’s family:
Our condolences to you at this difficult time. Marie was on the board of Community Living while I was a staff member many years ago. She was a caring, thoughtful lady who showed compassion to the children that she volunteered with. She will be missed by many in the community.

This space provides an opportunity to share a message from Marie. The day before Marie began her peaceful decline, a call was placed from her to us. I am so thankful that I answered the phone that evening for what was a two-minute conversation. She expressed the thought that with the prospect of a surgery (femur fracture) she might not be with us longer. Then with a smile, I am sure, she asked me to please tell everyone that she “loves” everyone! Truly, Marie’s love for all never failed!
We mourn Marie’s passing but we celebrate her strong quiet faith, her humility, compassion, forgiveness, care and love! Rest in Peace Marie! To remember you as family and friend is a blessing!

Barbara Eccles (nee Nedza) and family
My deepest condolences Linda, Anne and family. Marie was truly one of the most special people I have known in my life. Her friendliness, caring and warmth eminated with every visit. She always brightened spirits and saw the positive in life.
She was the most wonderful friend to my mom. And there were countless times that people would mistake them for sisters. Both with beautiful smiles and hearts of gold.
Your mom started my love of piano, and taught me with patience and encouragement. She facilitated my love of reading, and introduced me to many classics. Later she shared her love of literature with my children, by gifting them the most special books that were requested many times over.
Marie was a beautiful person, with a generous heart and I feel very blessed to have been close to her throughout my life. I will miss her dearly.

Marie’s family:
Please accept our deepest sympathy at the loss of a most wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. Marie was someone we all aspire to be – kind, respectful, filled with love and faith, accepting of all and all circumstances, always willing to help. Marie always volunteered to make the necessary phone calls to the members of Arc Angels to get a response for our functions, a job few wanted. But Marie loved talking to people and encouraging the work of Arc Angels in raising funds, which would be put to use with the clients of Community Living. Her dedication to this great cause was admirable. She has been missed since her move to London. We carry her memory in our heart. God Bless.

Sorry for your loss. Marie impressed me from the moment I met her when getting to know Paul and Wally year’s ago. She was so kind and joyful and went out of her way to make people feel welcome. I enjoyed her scones fresh from the oven and her easygoing manner. She had a good sense of humor and a delightful smile. Her faith in the Lord was a real encouragement to me as she dealt with the blows of adversity that come against all believers. I will miss her.
