Peacefully, at Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich, on Monday, October 25, 2010, Helen Gertrude (Deitz) Geiger of Zurich, passed away in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Claire W. Geiger (1981). Dear sister and sister-in-law of Betty Haist of R.R. 3, Zurich, Gloria Allen and Joan McKinnon both of Zurich, Glen Deitz and Donna of Exeter, Carol Deitz of Grand Bend and Romayne McClinchey of Clinton. Sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Milton and Myrtle (Ortwein) Deitz, brother Stewart Deitz, sister-in-law Shirely Deitz and brothers-in-law, Arthur Haist, Raymond McKinnon, Delbert (Pearl) Geiger and Jack McClinchey. Helen will be fondly remembered as a very caring and generous lady who farmed along side her husband on the Bronson Line for many years. She was a life member of Emmanuel United Church and was the caretaker and secretary treasurer of Emmanuel United Cemetery for 50 years.
Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N., Zurich on Wednesday from 2-6 where the funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 2 p.m. Rev Irene Richardson officiating. Interment Emmanuel United Cemetery.

It is with great sadness to learn of Helen’s passing. I remember lots of great memories as a kid going to Helen’s for family functions, or her coming to Grandma’s with Aunt Myrtle to make donuts. She is great lady and will be missed by all. My sympathies to all her family.
