Ed and Judy Fluter and Family
Dear Giesen Family
It was with the greatest of shock and sorrow that Judy and I heard recently of Jerry’s passing. Our heart felt condolences to all of you. Jerry was a very special person in our lives especially when we were neighbours on
Highway 7 and we lived in that beautiful house that he built with the “twisted pillars”. We had so much fun together dressing up for Halloween and Christmas, having snowmobile parties during snow storms, going on those infamous fishing trips , boating on Wildwood, and enjoying so many other adventures together and with friends. Jerry was the best neighbour and friend that anyone could have and we enjoyed every moment of our times together. His chuckle , laughter and good humour were infectious never to be forgotten , and his generosity was
classic. We can never be thankful enough to him for helping us to buy our beautiful home on the lake in Grand Bend and our lovely home in Stratford , Our only regret was that we didn’t have more time together after the family moved to beautiful Springhaven and we moved to Stratford. However we will always cherish the wonderful times that we did have together and will always remember Jerry as one of our dearest friends.

Springfield Farm once belonged to my Aunt and Uncle. I spent many summers on that farm. Once it was sold I reconnected with it and Jerry. I now live in the US. When visiting my brother in London, Ontario I would always visit Jerry and Helen. On my last visit in 2017 Jerry had just lost Helen. We sat for sometime talking about the family and farm history. I was so very fond of Mr. Giesen (he insisted I call him Jerry) and treasured every visit. He always referred to me as his California girl. To the family I send my deepest sympathies. I can’t imagine how much you already miss him. Jerry was such a ray of sunshine. God bless you all. I would love to keep in touch.

Dear Richard, Krista, Karin, Kelly and your families. My deepest, heartfelt condolences to all of you at this sad time. I am certain that the family values Jerry and Helen instilled in you will be of great assistance. And you will have many, many wonderful memories to share. I always regarded Trout Haven as the most beautiful, awesome retreat, and was so grateful to Jerry for his wonderful tour among his beautiful trees and ponds. His love of nature was compelling. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may his soul rest in peace.
Angela Clarkem
Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Patrick and I had a great time with your father. Hopefully you have many happy memories to comfort you in the future…..Angela and family

To Jerry’s children and grandchildren,
Our heartfelt and sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad and Grandpa. Jerry was a younger brother from my dad and he always looks as much the same and had the same voice. So when l met uncle Jerry, l met a bit my dad. He was very open and had a lot of humor. After the passing of my dad the time that we could spent together was a special gift. We were looking forward to meet him again but the day we arrived he has just passed. Although this is a very sad and difficult time for all of you, it is a blessing to spend time with you. Jerry has left a great legacy. I hope that all the memories wil be a consolation. Be proud to be a part of the Giesens Family Tree, because we do!

Richard, Krista, Karin & Kelly. It is still a bit surreal that smiling Jerry has joined Helen. He was an amazing man, with a great family, a big heart, never afraid to cry and always an open door. It is emblazoned in my memory how many times your parents said “Oh, Dan” … that makes me smile. You guys should smile and celebrate an amazing set of parents that have enabled you to hold your head high and carry on the strong values they have gifted you.
Lotsa love. Dan, Deb, Thomas, Steven, Michael, Abby (and Clucky).

Our heartfelt and sincere condolences on the loss of your Dad and Grandpa. Jerry was an outstanding man and it seems that he has left us too soon. So sad for the entire family to lose Jerry so suddenly. Nice that he did not have to suffer and we are sure he is happy to be back with Helen. We shared quite a few laughs with both Jerry and Helen in Sanlan and on our river cruise trip. We also had the pleasure of a few visits to the trout farm, one of the most peaceful places we have ever seen. He was always so proud of his children and grandchildren and I am sure they will carry on their legacy.

Truly saddened by the passing of such a kind hearted man. My family has stayed at the Cabin for the past 12 years, Jerry and Hellen were the warmest, welcoming hosts! Over the years Jerry shared stories of there life together and the creation of there beautiful property. Many special meanings behind each tree planted. Last year was a sad year when Helen passed and Jerry was so sad a lonely. We talked a lot that week I was there. His love for Helen was like no other. Jerry will be greatly missed. Sending my condolences to The family.

We are so saddened to hear of Jerry’s passing…..he was such a wonderful man and we shared many laughs and glasses of wine during the months at SanLan. This past season was very difficult for him without his beloved Helen, but it was always wonderful to spend time with him and hear his stories about coming to Canada, marrying Helen, raising children who he was so very proud of……always tears but always hugs after spending time together.
We had promised we would visit him at Springhaven this summer….Jerry loved going fishing in SanLan with Chico….and proudly posed for a picture the day he “outfished the captain”!
RIP our dear friend…….may you and Helen watch over those of us left behind.
