Peacefully, surrounded by her family, Gladys Almeda (Baechler) Gingerich of Zurich, went to her eternal home, at Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich, on Saturday, November 2, 2013, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Neil Gingerich (2012). Dear mother of Catherine and Gerald Shantz of R. R. 3, Zurich and Mary Ellen and Neil Skinner of Sherwood Park, AB. Loving grandmother of Sonya and Brad Green, Steven Shantz and Leah and Jeremy Ryder and great-grandmother of Christopher Green and Kaitlyn Green. Dear sister and sister-in-law of Verda Baechler, Irma and Floyd Buehler, Mary Baechler, Lennis and Marjorie Gingerich, Della Mae Gascho, Dorothy and Leonard Bowman, Helen and Keith Gingerich, Irla Gingerich and Stanley Sauder. Predeceased by her parents Solomon and Leah (Schwartzentruber) Baechler, one brother Bill Baechler, two sisters Eva (Clarence) Gascho, Gertrude (Oliver) Steckle, brother-in-laws Earl (Melinda) Gingerich, Lorne (Bernice) Gingerich, Ken Gascho, Alvin Gingerich, Ray Gingerich and sisters-in-law, Elda (Elton) Bender, Doreen (Earl) Oesch, Gladys Sauder, Dorothy Sauder and Bernice Gingerich.
Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N., Zurich on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Zurich Mennonite Church. Pastor Ken Gazley officiating. Interment Zurich Mennonite Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee or the Bluewater Rest Home.
