Cleve Gingerich, of Zurich, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 30, 2012 surrounded by his family at Stratford General Hospital in his 83rd year. Beloved husband for 61 years of Margaret (Erb) Gingerich. Dear father of Cliff (2007) and Delores Gingerich, Marlene and Dennis Estep, Rick and Marg Gingerich and Char and Dan Elliott. Loving grandfather of 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Gloria and Wally Dirks, Pearl and Andrew Kuepfer, Roy and Lenore Erb, Grace Martin, Mary Lou Erb and Pearl Ann and Mahlon Martin. Sadly missed by his many neices and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Jacob and Pearl (Kipfer) Gingerich, brothers Cyril (Carol), Gerald and Victor (Audrey), brothers-in-law Irvin Martin and sister-in-law Doreen Erb. Cleve was a farmer as well as a successful business owner. Cleve started C. G. Farm Supply Ltd in 1962 as a business selling Case Equipment along with many other short-line brands of equipment. Over the years the business grew, thanks to the employees and customers that contributed to that success. However, it was his faith in God and love of family that was the most important part of his life. He lived his life with his hope and faith in Jesus.
Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home Home, 49 Goshen St. N, Zurich on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 3, 2012 at 2 p.m.in the Zurich Mennonite Church, Zurich (visitng 1 hour prior to service time at the church). Pastor Ken Gazely officiating. Interment Zurich Mennonite Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Zurich Mennonite Church.
