Peacefully, at Chartwell Gardens, Elmira on Tuesday, May 26, 2015, Irla Martin Gingerich, formerly of Zurich, passed away in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Alvin Gingerich (1997). Dear mother and mother-in-law of Florence and Ron Sommers of Parrish, Fla. Esther Caron of Elmira, Floyd and Doris of Waterloo, Fern and Wolfgang Balzer of Waterloo, Betty Anne Gingerich of Shedd, Oregon and Ray Kaldal of Warner, Alberta. Dear sister-in-law of Ella Martin, Almeda Martin, Lennis and Marjorie Gingerich, Dorothy and Leonard Bowman, Della Mae Gascho, Helen Gingerich and Stanley Sauder. Sadly missed by her 12 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Ervin and Lucinda (Shantz) Martin, step-mother Mary Martin, step daughter Elizabeth Kaldal, step-sons David and Daniel Gingerich, brothers Milford Martin and Maurice Martin, sisters Bernice (Lorne) Gingerich and Cleta (Cleon) Martin, brothers-in-law Earl (Melinda) Gingerich, Neil (Gladys) Gingerich, Kenneth Gascho, Keith Gingerich, Ray Gingerich and sisters-in-law Elda (Elton) Bender, Doreen (Earl) Oesch, Gladys Sauder, Dorothy Sauder.
Visitation in the J. M. McBeath Funeral Home, 49 Goshen St. N. Zurich, Ont on Saturday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. in Lakeview Mennonite Church, Blake, Ont. Interment Lakeview Mennonite Cemetery.
