After a long battle, Gordon F. Dunlevie LT.COL. Retired of Arva, in his 80th year, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2002. Dear father of Alexis Devlin of RR 1 Lucan and Kathleen Collver of London. Dear grandfather of Meghan Devlin and Nicholas and Ryan Collver. Also survived by his dear brother William and Paula Sloan of Guelph. Predeceased by his beloved sisters Mildred and Marjorie. At Gordon’s request his body has been donated to University of Western Ontario Department of Anatomy. A memorial service will be held at Wolseley Barracks, Officer’s Mess, on Sunday, September 15th at 3 PM, followed by a reception. Gordon joined the Perth Regiment in 1937 and served with distinction during the second world war. He was commissioned in 1943 and served through out the Italian campaign. He was severely wounded in 1944 and evacuated to Canada where he recovered. In 1954 he rejoined the service and became Commanding Officer of 5 Ordinace Batilion in London. He later served on the staff of 18 Militia Group Headquarters in Toronto. He was an active member of the Senate of 22 Service Batilion; the Royal London Military Institute and the Wolseley Barracks Officer’s Mess.
