It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Darrell Francis Grainger at Huronview Home for the Aged, Clinton on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at the age of 85.
Survived by his wife, Aletha (Chiasson) Grainger, children Ethyl (Peter) Fournier, Cindy (Warren) Davidson, Sheri (Marvin) Taylor and Darrell Grainger. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and the extended Grainger and Chiasson families. Predeceased by his parents Samuel and Ethyl (Selkirk) Grainger.
Darrell was born in Spring Hill, Nova Scotia in 1937 and moved to Toronto with his parents while still a teenager. He worked numerous jobs until he started his own business in HVAC. In 2017 Darrell had a stroke which left him partially paralyzed. He then moved to Seaforth where he was closer to his family.
Many thanks to the staff at Huronview for the outstanding care they provided Darrell.
Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Seaforth (519-527-1390)
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Lee, Ethyl & Peter, Rocky, Sheri & Marvin, & my dearest friend Cindy & Warren, I am terribly sorry for the loss of your husband & father, he was a good man. I can feel your pain & as time goes on I have learnt that it doesn’t hurt any less, you just get use to living with it every day. However, as you all know, there is an eternal life after this fleshly one retires, & that is absolutely something glorious to look forward to. It has become the hope I hang on to, to be with my sister again. Without this hope, we have nothing. Lord Jesus be with you all & comfort & hold you close, this day & every day.
Love always & blessings, Suzi (Sweeney) Wilson. xo

Darrell and you have been a part of my family since I can remember and I was very saddened to learn of his passing yesterday. He and Dad were best friends since they were kids and we always heard about Darrie growing up. Sherri, Ethyl, Cindy and Rocky…we haven’t seen each other in many years but my condolences to you on the loss of your Dad. Lee, I know Mom will continue to be in touch. Know that our thoughts are with you at this time, as always.

To the family, peace and strength.
He was one of the funniest Dads I ever met. He had such lively eyes and a really cheeky grin and that is how I will think of him and remember him.
