Peacefully at the Bluewater Rest Home in Zurich, on October 13, 2018 with his daughter by his side, Jack Harvey of Exeter in 78th year, quietly slipped away to be at her side of his late wife Jane (April 8th, 2018). Loving father of Cheryl & Erich Freiter of Dashwood. Cherished papa of Byron Freiter of CFB Comox, B.C. & Shara Johnson of Victoria, and Katelyn Freiter & Mike McClure of Seaforth. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Bob and Debbie Harvey of Guelph, Bill and Marlene Harvey of Kitchener, Joan & Ken Campbell of Seaforth, Lois Ann & Maurice Wathke of Kitchener, and Linda & Eric Ross of London. Jack will be missed by several nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by his parents Leonard (1988) and Dallas (Young) (1995) Harvey.
Jack’s life was meant to be on the road. From a very young age he always delivered goods. As a youngster he delivered his papers, worked for Harvey’s grocery store, later Harvey’s Taxi & Ambulance. He loved serving his community. In 1962 he started his long haul of a career trucking with Guenther-Tuckey, then Laidlaw and later enjoyed working for Jim Scott Enterprises. In his travels delivering everything from road graders to salt and express he made many friends and colleagues along the way. Jack was honoured to be an Exeter Legion member for 45 years.
A private family memorial service will be held at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William St, Exeter on Wednesday, October 17th, 2018. Cremation with interment Exeter Cemetery.
Donations to Diabetes Canada or the Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich would be appreciated by the family.

Dear Cheryl, Erich, Byron & Katelyn . . . . . .
It is with saddened hearts that we are sending our sincerest sympathy to all of you on the loss of your dear and caring Father and Grandfather, Jack. He was a kind, sincere, hard-working, remarkable man who along with your Mother, Jane raised a wonderful family. May your cherished memories put a smile on your face and comfort you through these difficult days ahead. It is always hard to see our once lively parents age and eventually leave this world behind – but know they are reunited in Heaven forever. May the loving memories you have of your parents live on – in your hearts forever and help you through the difficult days ahead. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal.” You have so many wonderful family, friends, neighbours and community – supporting you.
May God keep you in his loving arms, as you grieve and celebrate Jack’s life. He is now resting in the arms of the angels and may his journey to the next life be as great as he was on earth.
So sorry for your loss – HUGS to all!
