November 23, 1941 – January 6, 2020
Surrounded by the sound of laughter, tears and prayer during his final hours, Lorne passed away quietly at Huron Residential Hospice in Clinton. Lorne is loved by Margaret, his best friend and partner for 51 years; Steven and Jo-Dee, Beth-Ann and Carman, and remembered by Lynne and Aldane. His grandchildren adore Poppa and accept his quiet wisdom with their own story telling and grace. He will be missed by his Johns Family Clan and his Hern siblings and their families.
Visitation will be held at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, EXETER on Thursday, January 9th from 6-9 PM. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life that will be held at the Kirkton – Woodham Community Centre, 70497 Rd 164, Kirkton on Friday, January 10th at 12 PM. A celebratory luncheon will follow. Private burial at Zion Cemetery, Usborne Township.
To honour Lorne’s life story and passion for agriculture and community, donations may be made to the, The Gay Lea Foundation, Zion Cemetery, or the South Huron Foodgrains Project.
