Berton,Sharon, and Family…
Please accept my sincere condolences at this very difficult time. Audrey always had a great story to share or a memory of any one of her children, grandchildren or great grand children.
She was always friendly and had a greeting for me as a child from the neighbourhood. You could always find Mrs. Hodgins in the garden or sitting on the porch with Mr. Hodgins and Berton.
I have had the privilege of spending my days with Audrey at the retirement home. Again, when I was doing my weekly room clean, Audrey would share with me some casual conversation. Whether it was about her family, gardening, the weather or the changing in times I always came away from our conversations knowing a bit more about this wonderful lady, or learning something new about my gardens.
Audrey, like all who knew her, had a green thumb. This week, I unfortunately, had to do my work while Audrey was still in hospital. It was not the same without our weekly chat, and sadly…I watered her beautiful flowers, and a tear came to my eye to see the Hyacinths flower she just started from a gift, begin to bloom without her being there to see the beauty. I was informed the following morning of this remarkable lady’s passing.
I hope you know how extremely grateful I am to have had the opportunity to share my time with Audrey. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. My thoughts and prayers are will you all as you mourn the loss of your mother and grandmother.
Sincerely,
Bev Dayman

To the Hodgins family,
My deepest sympathy is with you at this time. Audrey was a quiet, devoted woman who went about her life with a presence about her that brought comfort and calm. My greatest memory of Audrey is the day she told me that if I wanted my Christmas cactus to bloom, I should put it outside in the summer in a shady spot and bring it inside when it got cooler. I have had great blossoms ever since. Thank you, Audrey.
Sharon, Berton and Phyllis, you are in my prayers, as are all the family. God will hold you in his loving arms at this sad time.
Blessings,
Rev. Sue+
