My deepest sympathy to all of Ivan’s family. I used to live on Central Ave in London right across the street from Ivan back in the 1950’s and 60’s. He was part of our gang and always fun and full of life. In the 1980’s I think, he used to have a market stall in London at the market downtown, where he would sell his produce and I would drop in to see him when I was home visiting my family. He always had a big smile on his face . He loved people and loved talking to all h is customers. I am so sorry to hear of his illness and pray that he will now rest in peace. I will treasure my memories.

To Ivan’s Extended Family;
Ivan was a gentleman, a straight shooter, and a person that you were proud to know. I know we were.
The world was a better place because he was in it.

Finding comfort in knowing that the my dear brother, Ivan will be resting in our HODGINS family plot. His parents, Hilda Jean, and Nelson will rejoice in them all being together. I plan to be buried there too. The family stone is marked with “Loving Memories Last Forever.” Hope his children, Maureen, Laura, and Grant know that I am saving lots of hugs for them upon my return to Canada.

Uncle Ivan will always be remembered for his quick wit, his kind heart, and his mischievous smile. He lived a wonderful life albeit too short.
He was passionate about curling and formed many long lasting friendships during his over 40 years of playing and competing. He also was an avid boater and lived in a home with a lovely lake view.
His final chapter was fraught with adversity, but he faced A.L.S with courage, grace, and acceptance. Fortunately, he was able to create some wonderful memories with his children and family. Lucie made it possible for him to remain in his home and be as comfortable as possible.
Good bye Uncle Ivan!
Love and Light,
Sylvia

So very sad to hear of Ivan’s passing. I met Ivan many years ago working as a realtor as Ivan did at the time, for the London & St. Thomas Real Estate Board. At the office Ivan was a very fun guy and ready to help if needed. He was a very good person. Rest in peace Ivan.
