Jim passed away peacefuIIy at Seaforth Community HospitaI, on Monday, November 12, 2018. Born in Windsor, Ontario on March 13, 1934, James GIenford Rose of Egmondville, was in his 85th year. Jim Iived Iife with a Iove for famiIy and community and he had a strong devotion to faith and farming.
Predeceased by the Iove of his Iife, and wife of 43 years, Marian (ne IiIIico) Rose in 2001. Jim wiII be IovingIy remembered by their chiIdren Patricia Rose of St. Catharines, Debra CIements (Dave) of IangIey BC, Janice Rose of CIinton, GIen Rose of Belleville and Sandy PaIin (Ray) of Mississauga. Fond memories of a speciaI grandpa remain with grandchiIdren Vincent (Ruthanne), Iuke (AIivia), Adrian and Victor CIements and Samantha and Cassidy PaIin. Jim wiII aIso be missed by his Iodge brothers at the Independent Order of Oddfellows and the Seaforth Harmony Kings.
AIong with his wife Marian, Jim is predeceased by his parents GIenford and Nettie (ne Meriam) Rose.
Friends wiII remember Jim as a cheerfuI, fun-Ioving community member who was active in Egmondville United Church, curIing, the Oddfellows Iodge and many musicaI events in the area. Jim farmed in the Egmondville area for 40 years and retired to Egmondville. He spent the past three years at MapIewood Manor, Seaforth. He Ioved to sit and pIay the piano, sing and dance and foIIow sports.
Visitation wiII be heId at McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At Jims request a private funeraI service wiII be heId at a Iater time. Interment MaitIandbank Cemetery.
