Passed away peacefully at South Huron Hospital with family by his side on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 of Exeter, at the age of 82. Loving husband of Susan (Tomlinson) Jaques for over 55 years. Proud father of Kim Jaques, Alison and Sean Thompson, Elaine Jaques and Dave Bell, and Matthew and Jody Jaques. Adored grandpa/papa of Melanie, Maegan, Christopher, Hunter, Taylor, Branden, and Cole and great-grandpa of Ellie, Luke, Chase, and Chloe. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Shirley and Jim Wilkinson, Janet and Ron Henderson, David Tomlinson, and Chris Damen. Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Norman and Bernice Jaques, daughter Karen, brother-in-law Barry Tomlinson, and sister-in-law Linda Waye.
Harry was born a farmer, always in Usborne Township. He was a talented mechanic who could fix just about everything. He drove truck for John Hamilton and WG Thompson in Granton. Harry was always there to help a neighbour in need, never needing to be asked. He was a “jack of all trades”, earning the nickname “MacGyver” for being able to make or fix anything.
A private family funeral service will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter. Cremation with interment Zion Cemetery.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

To the whole extended Jaques family,
I am very sorry for your loss! It has almost been a year since Harry’s passing. I apologise for my very late condolences.
I have very fond memories from my childhood of Harry and his handiwork and inventions at Uncle Norm and Aunt Bernice”s farm. I also remember him helping me do my job while he was still on the Hern Line.
If, somewhere in the afterlife, something needs fixing or built, Harry will be there, helping out.
May your memories keep you strong and give you all solace.
Sandra

I am sorry for your loss. Harry was an easy going wrencher when I first met him at Bert Borlands shop. He gave me a hand with the forklift after Bert told me fix it, I didn’t work there, but that was Bert. Harry was kind and patient and with his help I was back to Elliott’s to work. My heart goes out to you.

Susan and family, Shirley and Jim,
Our deepest condolences to each of you. We were saddened to learn of Harry’s passing. We used to enjoy seeing him working away by the little barn up from our corner. Earl remembers him in public school days, trying to put a little gas engine on a bicycle: one of many inventions! We always knew it was fall when we would see him go by with the little tractor with the potato digger behind! You are in our thoughts and prayers.
