I was so sad to hear that Oluf has passed away.
Oluf gave my so many good memories, and I was SO LUCKY to see Oluf i september where my Jens met Oluf, Audrey, Paige, Parker, Poul and Missy for the first time. We even made Frikadeller.. ; )
Oluf has, through the years, created a bond between the most beautiful family in Canada an us in Denmark. Bonds that is passing on to the next generations in our family.
Thank you Oluf for being such a great person and for going to Canada and tie us so close to our canadian family.
Love you so much

Audrey and family, please accept our condolences as you mourn the loss of your loved one. You have many good memories to think back on. I remember the beautiful fall day when you and Jens were married. The boyscouts presented an honor guard as you stepped out from the church. Our thoughts and prayers with you.

Some of my fondest family memories have included Audrey and Jens. I will always remember Jens as a kind, caring, classy man, who always had a warm smile on his face. I will miss him.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Andersen’s (Jens) passing.
I loved looking at the pictures of him. Brought back so many wonderful memories I had of him and your family growing up.
Audrey, you and Jens were such a sharp dressed couple and always so friendly and giving as well as great hosts in your home.
You were like my second family. So many trips with you Missy to your cottage, to Florida and Disney World; fun times at your cousins (Kristin and Kara’s) farm, so many sleepovers (loved the kingsize bed); and the amazing playhouse in the basement that your Dad made for us. I could go on and on……
I even learned how to speak some Danish.
Yasku havun plastic posa fur mien sko? (May I have a plastic bag for my shoes) The spelling could probably use some work.
My thoughts are with you Audrey, Missy, Paul, Paige & Parker at this difficult time.
With Deepest Sympathy,
Lori

It was with great sadness we received the news of Oluf´s passing. When I was a little boy – he was for me the symbol of an adventurer – a man who had the guts to leave his old country and try his luck in a faraway country with nothing else to offer than his good looks and hard work. It is some of my most precious moments when we first came to visit Oluf, Audrey and Missy in Clinton in 1981 and was introduced to friends and family. Then other trips came and every time the warmth and joy you showed us was remarkable. Over the years Oluf preserved his bonding to Denmark and he loved to hear news from his old hometown and stories about the people he knew. Now it is up to us youngsters to cherish Oluf´s legacy and pass on the ties between our part of the family, and I am certain that we would enjoy the knowledge that my daughters and his grandchildren now tie up with each other.
Our warmth and deepest sympathy go to Audrey, Missy, Paul, Paige and Parker

Dear Aundry,
We have thought often and much of you. There are many great memories we can remember.
The visit in 1969, where we spent one month with you and the Canadian family and friends. The being together with you, when you were in Denmark, and the time we spent together with you in Madeira Beach where we like to come. We have always felt comfortable with you.
In all the years when Bodil was a child Jens was the “big brother” who traveled to America.
We had many good times with you, and Aundry, you had always been so busy- with “Aundry you are burning the toast”.
The loving thoughts to you and the family Bodil and Ivar

Jens was a very special man. As teenagers all we “slightly younger” women had great crushes on him. He looked and acted like our Knight in Shining Armour, always helping us out of messes with his wise ways and great sense of humour. As we matured, found our own knights and married, Jens and Audrey provided an ideal for us to emulate. A devoted and loving couple who always put family first, but also loved travel, good food and the odd sip of Aquavit! Thank you Jens for the wonderful memories, the superb example of a life well lived and for all the love you gave to the whole family. You will be sorely missed.

It is with great sadness that we received the message about my cousin and our friend Jens Oluf Voigt Andersen’s death. At a young age Jens travelled to Canada to try his luck. In Canada he met Audrey and found happiness. Great joy was when Missy was born, and not least when Missy and Paul gave you two beautiful grandchildren.
We are greatfull for the love and care Jens Oluf recieved during his illness.
Thank you for all the wonderful moments we had – you will always be in our minds.
Our thoughts and deepest sympathy go to Audrey, Missy, Paul, Paige and Parker.

So sorry to hear Jens has passed. Thinking of you during this difficult time and remembering all the fun we had during our trip to Vegas in the back of the car. Seeing Dean Martin, Mount Rushmore….your parents listening to two pre-teen girls in the back seat for 2 weeks. The many birthday partiesand sleepovers, our “danish conversations”. Wonderful memories of Jens giving a BIG smile and hearty laugh. He certainly loved his family and friends. He will be dearly missed and we send our love to you Audrey, Missy, Paul, Paige and Parker.

How lucky to have such a wonderful uncle Jens. So many fond memories I will cherish forever. Up until recent years I would look at Jens as a man who never really aged. A boisterous laugh, great cook, scotch lover, and all around sharp dressed man. I have vivid memories of true Danish dinners at your house in Clinton wondering how on earth we could sit at the dinner table for so long amongst many courses and then out comes…..the Schnapps. :-).
Audrey you are such an amazing woman, you were Jens rock. Thinking of you all, Audrey, Missy, Paul, Paige and Parker. Love you all very much. Kara Yetta xo

I have such fond memories of Mr. Andersen as I was a teenager. When entering grade nine I met this lively girl named Missy. We hit it off right away and to this day we remain good friends, which I treasure. Missy would invite me to her house after school to hang out. Her parents were not home when we arrived as BOTH Mr. and Mrs. Andersen worked outside of the home which was something new to me. Also, Mr. Andersen always wore a suit to his work which was foreign to me as I grew up on a farm and I was more accustomed to overalls for work attire.
The Andersen’s treated me like a daughter. They included me on numerous trips to the big city of Toronto. They opened my eyes to travelling by trains, subways, taxis, staying overnight in hotels, ‘open-face’ sandwiches and dinners in nice restaurants.
Missy and Audrey, you have my deepest sympathies. Treasure your memories and pictures.
Sincerely, Sharon

Audrey. So sorry to hear you have lost Jens. Beyond how special he was to you as your longtime husband and friend, he was extra special to those of us who knew him as a fellow hydro employee. His renowned loyalty and readiness to give that “little extra” was much respected. His life can certainly be remembered as well lived.
May God bless you and yours at this difficult time.
Blessings, Wes C.

Growing up in Denmark, I always loved when Oluf and Audrey would come to visit from Canada. We would go to the Circus or Tivoli and always have a wonderful time. Thank you for all the great memories. My love and thoughts are with you Audrey, Missy, Paul, Paige and Parker.

The stories I have heard from, and about Oluf always seamed to be about some sort of adventure, be it part of the Danish resistance, or the tale of how he made his way to Canada and the friends that were supposed to go with him but never showed up! I am proud to have met him!

Such wonderful memories we have of our dear uncle Jens. Lots from up at the cottage, dinners out at the farm and in Clinton. The detailed stories both Audrey and Jens would share from their trips to Europe. Jens was not Jens without Audrey and whenever we planned anything it was always with Audrey and Jens like salt and pepper, peanut butter and jelly. Jens was a very lucky man He will be greatly missed. Audrey be strong, your family loves you and looks up too you.

What a life!
Young WWII Nazi resistance fighter. Adventuring immigrant to Canada. Hydro lineman who worked his way up the ranks to admin. Lifelong adoring, faithful husband and true love of Audrey. Awesome swimmer and all around He-man. Jens could easily drive a tractor on his son-in-law’s dairy farm or crack a good joke. Laugh like crazy. How he honored his mother and father-in-law! No ocean could separate him from his Danish family. Just a simple little frown of disapproval and those handsome, flashing eyes was all it took to set us youngins in order. A gentle man. An awesome, devoted father and grandfather, uncle and mentor. He loved a party and yet he was sober, thoughtful, ethical, truthful. And very good lookin’!
Our beloved hero, Jens, there’ll never be another like you. Ever, ever, ever.
God speed, dear one.
