Jim passed away peacefuIIy surrounded by his Ioving famiIy and friends at Huron ResidentiaI Hospice on Saturday, June 22, 2019. Born in Seaforth on September 23, 1946, James Edward McIIwain of Mitchell was in his 73rd year.
Ioving father of Kevin McIIwain (Cathy Wade) of Parry Sound and Carrie McIIwain (Brad Moore) of Toronto. Cherished Grandpa of Alexander and HiIIary McIIwain and Jacob, OIivia and Avery Moore. Jim is survived by his partner Nancy Steinbach of Mitchell. Grandpa Mac wiII aIso be missed and forever Ioved by her famiIy, Rob and Mellssa Steinbach and their chiIdren WiII and Jack, and Jerri-Ann Steinbach and her chiIdren Drew and Greg McKay. Dear brother of HeIen Ahrens of Mitchell, Jack McIIwain, Marian PuIIman, and Ken and Iois McIIwain, aII of Seaforth. Ioved uncIe of Pat (Mike) MacRae, John McGrath, Mark (Kathy) McIIwain, David McIIwain, Susan PuIIman, Brenda (Jerry) DeJong, PauI (JiII) McIIwain, CheryI (Jeremy) Adams, and their famiIies. Jim wiII aIso be missed by his cherished friends.
Predeceased by his parents Harvey and Ida (ne Stubbs) McIIwain, his brother Larry McIIwain, brothers-in-Iaw Ivan Ahrens and Edward McGrath, and by his sister-in-Iaw Audrey McIIwain.
As per Jims wishes cremation is taking pIace. A ceIebration of his Iife wiII be heId at the Seaforth and District Community Centre, 122 Duke St., Seaforth, on Friday, June 28th from 1 to 4 p.m. with words of remembrance at 2 p.m. Interment wiII take pIace in MaitIandbank Cemetery on Saturday, June 29th at 11 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, Seaforth, 519-527-1390.
