Peacefully, with his family, John (Jack) Mervin Stewart in his 84th year at South Huron Hospital, Exeter on Monday, October 29, 2007. Devoted husband of the late Ferne Stewart (March 2007). Dad and mom celebrated 55 years and will be together forever. Loving and caring father of Marlene Potter of Thunder Bay, Elaine and Pete Kosi of Coldstream, Murray and Cheryl Stewart of Beeton, Lori Lynn and Norm Lauzon of Timmins and Cheryl and Brian Sullivan of Metcalfe. Cherished grandpa of Amy Leah, Brendan (Holly), Matthew and Caitlin; Justin, Jasmine, Nicole and Tiffany; Matthew and Meredith; Katrina and Carrington; Lisa, Brianna, Alison, Patrick and Philip. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Ray and Marion Stewart of Sarnia, June Stewart of Usborne Township and Margaret Stewart of Exeter. Predeceased by an infant daughter Maxine Anne and brothers Glen and Floyd Stewart, brothers and sisters-in-law Laverne and Barb Rodd and Audrey and Lorne Passmore. Jack will be fondly remembered and missed by all his nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends and neighbours. He enriched our lives with his keen sense of humour, easy going nature, wisdom and amazing stories. Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, 1 west of Main, Exeter on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where the celebration of life service will be held on Friday, November 2nd at 11 AM with Bob Heywood and Rev. Judith Ritchie officiating. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or South Huron Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
