Surrounded by the love of her family, Joyce Marie Schenck (née Humphrey) passed away peacefully at Seaforth Long Term Care Home, on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the age of 88. Joyce was a dedicated nurse graduating from Stratford School of Nursing in 1953. Joyce had many talents with a needle and thread – sewing, knitting and crocheting countless gifts and treasures. More importantly, Joyce stitched ways of love and kindness into the circle of her family and friends.
Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her children Janice Schenck and Pierre Lepine, Bob and Janice Schenck, Joanne Flanagan and Wayne Wolfe, Brent Schenck and Jackie Schenck. Fond memories of a much loved G’ma remain with grandchildren Bill, Adam and Kevin Schenck; Matt, Mark, Kayla and Jacob Flanagan; Kendall and Carissa Schenck and Manny and Alex Schenck-Ninos along with her 10 great grandchildren.
Joyce is predeceased by her husband David (2010), son Bradley (1982), son-in-law Peter Flanagan (1993), grandson Nathan (1979), sister Lois Emmerton and her husband Ron and her parents Arthur and Margaret (née Dunlop) Humphrey.
Arrangements are entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth. Respecting Joyce’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will take place in Kincardine Cemetery at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Huron County or the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be left for the family by visiting Joyce’s memorial at www.haskettfh.com
