Peacefully, with family by his side at LHSC – University Hospital, London on Monday, March 12, 2018 after a long courageous battle with cancer, of RR#1 Lucan and formerly of Germany in his 80th year. Loving husband of Irmgard Kaumanns for over 53 years. Proud father of Johannes and Andrea Kaumanns of Germany, Hilmar and Carol Kaumanns of RR#1 Lucan, Claudia and Norbert Schmitz of Germany. Dear Opa of Clara and Jakob; Nicole, Sydney, and Lucas; and Antonia and Lennart. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Beatrix and Heinz –Peter Heuser, Christa Jobs, Marlies and Theo Winters, Matthias and Monika Maassen, Marlene Maassen, and Maria Kaumanns all of Germany. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Johann and Anna Maria (Reuter) Kaumanns, brother Hilarius Kaumanns, brothers-in-law Günter Jobs and Martin-Josef Maassen, and brother and sister-in-law Agnes and Norbert Rauen. A special thanks to Dr. Skaro, Dr. Coffey, nurse Carly, nurse Marianne and all the staff on floor 8 at University Hospital. As well, thank you to Dr. Razvi of St. Joseph’s Hospital for the long time care he provided Peter. Peter loved farming, and after immigrating to Canada in 1987 his life long dream came true.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William St, Exeter on Thursday, March 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Prayers will be said in the funeral home at 4:00 PM. The Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 69219 Bronson Line, South Huron (Mount Carmel), on Friday, March 23rd at 11 AM with Father Len Desjardins, Presiding. Interment Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the South Huron Hospital Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).
