Peacefully at Chartwells Parkhill on June 17, 2022 of Grand Bend at the age 79. Beloved husband of Elsie (Miller) Keyes for 53 years. Cherished father of Scott (Linda) and Susan. Proud grandpa of Ceceillia (Trevor), Jack (Madison) and Raelee. Dear brother and brothers-in-law Carman Keyes, Fred Miller (Elaine), Earl Miller (Marilyn). Missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by parents Bertha (Britton) and Robert Keyes, brother Jack Keyes (Patricia), sisters-in-law Joan Keyes, and June Miller, and parents-in-law Edith (Earl) and Everard Miller.
LeRoy was a dedicated family man. He enjoyed serving his community, Grand Bend in various ways. He worked for multiple local grocery chains over the years. LeRoy also gave his time to serve grieving families in their time of need at the Grand Bend and Pinery Cemeteries.
LeRoy was a big jokester. He loved to laugh and make people laugh. LeRoy also had a love for food and hockey. The family battles between hockey teams has given his grandkids great memories to hold on too.
Thanks to the staff at Chartwell Parkhill Long Term Care, especially Dr. Andrew Whynot. Also a special thank you to Rev. Dr. Christine O’Reilly at Knox Presbyterian Church for her support and compassion.
A private family memorial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Knox Presbyterian Church, Thedford or the LHSF – Neurological Dept. would be appreciated.

A remarkable man is gone now,
And this world seems a little lessened somehow,
Because he is not a part of it ….
A little less wise and great,
A little less good and brave.
May it help to know that he will never be forgotten,
By those whose lives he touched.
And may your cherished memories bring you comfort.

I worked with LeRoy for many years at Betty & Arts IGA, then onto Sunshine Village IGA for Peter Haist. LeRoy was a dedicated hard worker and we shared many good laughs and jokes together.
LeRoy, until we get to work together again, you can retire the old stampers, the eradicator, the pricing guns and the box cutters. But first and foremost, you were an intelligent friend to work with.
Rest in peace LeRoy!
