Peacefully at the Exeter Villa, on Thursday, August 11, 2016, Wilma went home to be with her Lord, at the age of 101. She leaves behind her two sons Bill (Gail), John (Lisa), and daughter Ann Zwaan (Fred), and her grandchildren Jennifer (Adam), Vanessa (Sean), Liz, Jodi, Tim, Karolyn, Holly (Ben), and Nicole (John). She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren Taylor, A.J., Elliott, Quin, Ethan, Keagan, and Carter. Predeceased by grandson Josh, and great-granddaughter Chantel. Wilma was born is Dijkerhoek, municipality of Holten, Overijsel, Holland (site of a present-day Canadian War Cemetery) on 22 Nov 1914. She is predeceased by her Mother Johanna and Father Johan Prins, an infant sister and brothers Engbert and Hendrik Prins. She survived two World Wars (times of extreme hardships). She married her husband Fred in 1944, and in 1955 they emigrated to Canada where the family settled to farm in Tuckersmith Township between Kippen and Seaforth, Ontario. After the kids showed no interest in the farm life, they sold it and Wilma went to work for Hall Lamp in Huron Park for a number of years. Retirement followed and Wilma got busy looking after grandchildren in Kincardine and Woodham and volunteering for various causes, especially serving her church until she was not able. A special “Thank You” to the staff at the Exeter Villa, and to Dr. Steciuk. Rest in eternal peace Mom! You have earned it.
Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, Exeter (1 street west of Main) on Sunday afternoon 2-4 PM. The funeral service will be held at the Bethel Reformed Church, 200 Huron Street East, Exeter on Monday, August 15th at 11 AM with Pastor John Zwaan officiating. Interment Exeter Cemetery.
Donations to the Exeter Villa, Bethel Reformed Church, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Ann, Fred and family, I remember your Mom years ago. I always liked Wilma. Our girls used to play ringette with your girl(s). Time has passed by, so quickly. Now the grandchildren appear! Thinking of you at this sad time. George and Sue Wilson
