Dear Pam and family – My sincere sympathy on Larry’s death. He was such a dedicated and energetic leader in education circles, and was taken much too early. Larry loved the challenge of providing excellence in all he attempted – for his students especially. He did set the bar high for his colleagues as well. No doubt, you will miss his caring presence every day – but, hopefully, the many wonderful memories you shared will give you hope and peace. That’s what he would want. Sincerely, Mary Jane Lally, formerly from LDCSB.

When a pebble is cast into a still lake, the ripples spread out across the water. These small waves are the traces the pebble’s energy has left on the world. The traces of Larry’s joyful energy will continue to ripple through the world and will have an effect on people who never had the privilege to have met him. At King’s, Larry’s passion for Catholic education helped make the Catholic Studies for Teacher’s program possible and the work he put into it, both in terms of his advocating for Catholic education and his teaching students, will touch the lives of generations to come.
There is great sadness with is loss, but even greater joy in having known him.
My condolences to Larry’s entire family

I was so saddened to hear of Larry’s passing. He was a friend, colleague and mentor during our time as directors of education. He helped guide me as a Catholic leader with a particular emphasis on moving our board forward towards greater student achievement. He was generous with his time, sincere in his sharing, committed to providing the best for the students he served and so very knowledgeable. I particularly appreciated our time working on a project with Dr. Avis Glaze as we helped her shape the LNS. I also remember fondly that we often shared our love of reading good literature by recommending novels to one another.
To the Langan family, my sincere condolences. Larry was such a good man, an inspirational leader and to me, a good friend on our journey through Catholic education. This is a sad occasion, indeed, but as usual, Larry continues to lead the way in this last leg of his earthly journey. I will keep all of you in my prayers.

I am one of Larry’s Catholic Studies for Teachers students who graduated this past spring. I am so thankful for having the privilege of being guided and inspired by Larry for my future career in education. He was a constant support and mentor, teaching every student in the program how to become great teachers. Not only did he give us advice and skills to be great teachers, but he also helped all of us become better people. Brian and Karen Finnigan
Dearest Pam and family,
It was with heartbreaking sadness that we received the news of Larry’s passing. For over four decades we were so blessed to have had him as part of our lives and grateful that we were able to visit with him on Monday and see him one last time. He has left us with so many tremendous positive memories; of work together, of family visits, of tons of laughter and of travels around the globe.
Larry had tremendous energy and was always focused on his three key goals; faith, family and friends. He laboured consistently; throughout the time we have been blessed to know him, to be an inspirational example to all of us on how to achieve a positive balance in these three areas. Larry was a competitor, but he always was able to let others take the limelight and was humble with his many successes. He possessed an unquenchable desire to make a difference, and an energy level that was second to none.
He meant so much to us all on both a professional and personal level, his contributions to his community, his mission, and his relationships will have an impact for years to come.
We can only imagine the loss you must all feel but know that his star will shine brightly in Heaven and his blessings will continue to enrich our lives.
You remain in our thoughts and prayers at this time and we will always be there with you in the future.

Dear Pam and family,
Larry will be missed by so many people and organizations in the area. I will personally miss his great smile and mentorship that he extended to me when I joined the Bayfield Town Hall board of directors in 2013. He was a great no nonsense guy that liked to get the job done and well! His dedication to annual Sunset on Summer BBQ that he helped create, was always strong, even as he was going through tremendous heal challenges – I will never ever forget his work on the 2016 BBQ – and I think he was pleased with the outcome, his smile told me so!
My condolences to you, Pam and to the family, Larry was a great guy and will be missed by many!
