With profound sadness, but grateful for a life well-lived, the family of Dorothy (Lynn) Lankin wish to announce her sudden but peaceful passing at her residence on Monday November 23, 2020. For more than 58 years Dorothy was the cherished, loving wife of Don. Devoted mother of Carolynn and Paul Hodgins, Paul and Judi Lankin. She will be immensely missed by her grandchildren Katelynn, David (Dallas) Hodgins; Eric, Grace and Matthew Lankin, Derek, Nicki, Rachel, Leslie Sowerby. Dear sister and sister in law of Ralph and Gwen Lynn, Pauline and Ron Haynes, June and Hubert Arts, Irene Lynn, and Jean-Marie Varey. Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Lloyd and Gladys Lynn, Don’s parents Jack and Kay Lankin, her sisters Clarice Hern and Noreen Brock, her brother Gerald Lynn, and her brothers-in-law Harry Hern, Tom Brock, and Dave Varey.
Dorothy and Don were a great duo and couple working together in the family business. They delighted in entertaining family and friends, dancing, playing euchre, travelling, the outdoors- walking and fishing. Cooking was something they both enjoyed, a fish fry being one of their specialties. Don and Dorothy built a wonderful life together. Dorothy lived her life fully and completely finding and giving joy wherever possible. There are no words and too many words for what Dorothy meant and will continue to mean to all of us. Her legacy will last a lifetime.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Thursday evening from 4-6 PM. Due to Provincial COVID-19 restrictions, each person must RSVP for the visitation in the funeral home. Please click “Register Now” below to register.
A private family funeral service will be held on Friday, November 27th at 11 AM with Reverend Matthew Martin officiating. If desired, donations to the South Huron Hospital Foundation or Jessica’s House would be appreciated by the family.
