Passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich on March 11, 2018 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of Norman Lichty. Loving mother of Patricia Heipel and her husband Keith. Kay will be lovingly remembered by her sister Norma Peterson of Toronto, the Heipel family, and family friend Linda Bain. Predeceased by her parents George and Leonora Berdux, siblings Dorothy (Gil) Miller, Helen (Walter) Kraehling, Ralph (Laverne) Berdux, Esther (Oliver) Glebe, and brother-in-law Gilles Peterson. Kay was born in Kitchener on April 18, 1927, and spent her youth in the Wellesley area. It was there; she met and married her husband of 68 years. The family expresses gratitude to Dr. O’Connor and the staff at Bluewater Rest Home for their compassion and outstanding care.
A private family funeral service will be held. Cremation with interment Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Haskett Funeral Home, Zurich (519-236-4365).
Donations to Bluewater Rest Home or Alzheimer Society of Huron County would be appreciated by the family. For those who wish, donations may be made at the funeral home with cheque or cash.
