Peacefully, in his sleep at Chateau Gardens, on Sunday, April 19, 2009, Lorne William Kleinstiver of London and formerly of Dashwood in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Helen (nee Williams), father of Peter (Sandra) and grandfather of Jesse, Ben and Josh, all of London. Also survived by his sister Ruth Scott of Guelph. Lorne earned his Wings as a fighter pilot in world War II and subsequently returned to Dashwood to establish a mechanical contracting business which he operated for nearly 50 years. He loved sports-particularly golf and baseball, and was active in politics, the Lebanon Forest Lodge #133 A.F. & A.M. and Bluewater Shrine Club. He was a proud husband, father and grandpa and will be missed. Friends may call at the Haskett Funeral Home, 370 William Street, 1 west of Main, Exeter on Wednesday April 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. There will be a Masonic Service at the funeral home on Wednesday at 6:30 PM. Cremation has taken place with a private inurnment. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to either the Alzheimer’s Outreach Service at McCormick Home or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
