Bev and I were surprised to here of Mac’s passing. It has been a long struggle but he is at peace now. My greatest memory is of Mac, Don Thompson and I handling the cash intake for the large Lions Dance at Pineridge Hall. Boy we had fun 3 clowns stuffed with bills. Mac was always fun loving and embraced everybody equally. He will be missed by all, we give our heart felt hugs to you Mary Jane.

I think back fondly of our nursing years and recall how in love you and Mac were. To have shared this journey of life with Mac since high school how blessed you both were. Together you shaped every day and made a wonderful life for each other. Each other’s strengths helped you complete each others dreams. You went together like popcorn and the movies.. You are a strong lady and with the help of family and friends you will receive the strength to get through one day at a time.
Fondly

I will remember summer scrub baseball games in Victoria Park; Mac was the best at stealing bases. The hide and seek games seemed to go on for hours, especially as he picked the best hiding spots. But mostly I will remember Mac’s huge grin and love of life. Wrap yourselves in those precious memories. My prayers go out to you.

Dear Mikala — My Mom saw this in the paper and passed the news along to me.: I am so sorry to hear this. I am sitting here thinking about being at your place when we were in high school and both your Mom and Dad being so awesome with/to me. I remember stealing their booze a few times (belated apologies, Mary Jane!). We thought they didn’t know but I think they knew and let us get away with it. I remember some awesome breakfasts at your kitchen table, too. Thinking of you and yours at this difficult time. Love, Kerry (Manders)

We were on the journey together and the journey ended, but our love for Mac,that won’t end. We lost a wonderful friend, but our hearts are full of memories of Christmas Eves and 24th of May weekends at the cottage, and our “Lobster Fests”,of laughter and good times, our children growing up together, our trips to Frankenmuth and a fun week in Halifax..there are just too many memories, a better friend no one ever had! We look ahead as Mac would want,we carry on as Mac would want and we will rally together and support each other as Mac would want. We saw near the end the grace and dignity and strength that Mac displayed as always in his life. Bravely and without despair Mac accepted his fate and never lost his sense of humour. Mary Jane,Kayla,Kian we are here for you always.

Mary Jane,Mikala, Kian and families:
On behalf of Nancy, Katie and Michael, please accept all of our deepest condolences at this difficult time. My kids often heard me speak of Mac and what a great friend he was. I am so fortunate to have met him all those years ago in Lions in Exeter. Certain people come into our lives that we have so much respect and admiration for…Mac was one of those people to me. Just a great man that I’ve always looked up to. Find comfort in knowing that he isn’t battling anymore and that he will be missed by so many.
My thoughts are with you.
