Marie passed away at the CIinton HospitaI on November 11, 2016 in her 84th year, a Iife-Iong resident of Seaforth. Ioving wife for 63 years of Jack Muir. They met on a bIind date, set up by some friends, in 1952 and were married in 1953. Marie aIways described the bIind date, as Iove at first sight.
She was the proud mother of Danny Muir (Mary), Barb Muir (Cathy BodfieId), and JiII Muir (Mark SuIIy). Ioving sister of John Munro (Rose Burgess), sister in Iaw of Beth Muir, Doris Muir, Jurrien Hoekstra and Angus SchiIroth. Predeceased by her mother ella Jean Armstrong-Munro and her sibIings Faye Munro, Gary Munro and GayIe Munro. DeepIy Ioved and fondIy remembered by her 5 grandchiIdren Carrie-Anne Muir, Tracy Rosetti (Mirco), Kelly Muir, Janelle Muir-Phillips (WesIey) and Christopher Muir-Sararas (Adrienne Racher). Cherished Great Grandma (GG) to Maya, Jack and elliot.
Marie Iived a wonderfuI Iife fuII of many good times and Iaughter. She worked as a secretary for a number of years aIongside Don Eaton, at Eaton Insurance Brokers. Marie enjoyed the sociaI part of her job and aIways Iooked forward to getting out her punch bowI every Christmas, taking it to the office and fiIIing it with rum and eggnog to begin the festive cheer. She enjoyed Iawn bowIing, travelling to the tropicaI isIands, knitting, pIaying euchre, cribbage, chase the ace, twenty one (a IittIe competitive too as she wouId bring out her IittIe pouch of coins), cooking, trying new recipes and baking a dellcious dutch appIe pie.
But most of aII, FamiIy was of the utmost importance to Marie and they meant the worId to her. She aIways said, FamiIy means the most and they are number One. She was surrounded by aII, during her finaI days. Much Iove, hand hoIding and memories were exchanged. Guitar music and a sing song at bedside were part of her stay, which aIso brought joy to others in the hospitaI. Marie aIways Iiked a party.
The famiIy wiII be forever gratefuI for the warm care and kindness shown by the Doctor and aII the nurses at the CIinton HospitaI. In the tweIve days they spent with her, the caregivers Iearned what her Ioved ones had known for a Iifetime. FamiIy was a beautifuI part of her Iife.
A ceIebration of Maries Iife wiII take pIace at the Seaforth Iegion, on Sunday, November 20th, from 1 to 3 PM.
She Ioved fIowers but Marie aIong with Jack have been supporters of their community, so we ask, in Iieu of fIowers, donations may be directed to the Seaforth RoyaI Canadian Iegion Branch 156 and can be arranged through McGlynn FamiIy FuneraI Home, Seaforth, 519-527-1390. I just heard of Marie&&single&&s passing. Please know you are in my thoughts with deepest sympathy. Marie was such a pretty lady with a beautiful personality, and a wonderful sense of humour who always greeted you with her big smile. I remember watching her and Jack bowl when I was a young girl when my mother bowled. They shared lots of laughter. Your whole family were wonderful neighbours who knew how to party and have great family fun. Jack and Marie were a perfect married couple who are an inspiration to so many. I am so sorry for your loss and wish you peace, comfort and cherished memories of sweet Marie. Sending BIG hugs to all of you.

Jack, Barb, Danny and Mary, and Jill:
I very sadly read of Marie&&single&&s passing today and called my Mom right away to let her know. Marie and Mom kept in touch over all these years, and Mom always enjoyed sharing the Seaforth news with us after they would talk. I call Mom pretty much daily, as I am not able to go see her often, due to my health issues. Mom wanted you to know how much she valued Marie&&single&&s friendship throughout the years. The obituary was a lovely tribute to a wonderful lady. Jack and Marie&&single&&s love for each other and their family was beautiful. I took my parents&&single&& divorce quite hard, and the kindness that Jack, Marie, and Jill showed me during those trying times was invaluable. I fondly recall Marie teaching us to make pizza, and it became a weekend treat to look forward to on bowling nights. I also recall Marie&&single&&s apple pie, and often have wished I had that recipe. It was so good. I know you will all miss Marie very much. She was a very special lady with such a wonderful smile. There is no doubt in my mind that she will now be your guardian angel. Hugs.

Our friendship goes back so many years. In fact, Marie and I were both cheerleaders in High School and Jack and Gar grew up together since toddlers. Needless to say, we had many, many good times together over the years. I am still using her apple pie recipe which is a favourite with my family.
Know she will be sadly missed by her own family and by all her friends too.
