I was so sorry to hear on Sunday morning of Marlen&&single&&s passing. I had watched his grandsons curling on Saturday and I know how difficult it must have been for them to stay focused. I am sure Marlen will continue to cheer the boys on from above. Marlen was a great community person and in any small town people like Marlen are needed. To Jane (who tried to teach me piano) and Lynda, Brian & Barry and families I extend my sincerest sympathy and trust that you will know that our community has benefited greatly from all the contributions of time and energy he gave us over the years. Jane, Bryan, Linda, Barry, and the Dance and Vincent families: We had hoped to make it to visitation tonight but the weather and the distance kept us at home. Your family has been in our thoughts and prayers since we first heard of Marlen&&single&&s illness from Dave, Karen, Rick and Kathy. I have many memories of growing up in Seaforth and the Vincent family was definitely a part of it. From being friends with Barry in high school, Bryan throughout Junior Farmers and of course going to Vincent Farm Equipment with my dad. Since I moved to Ayr to make my home, whenever I saw Marlen we had great conversations. He would fill me in on Seaforth and I would fill him in on Ayr. A unique crossing of our lives. The last memory I have of him is a great one. He was at the Ayr arena with the Masons at the Grand Opening in September being proud. I had the opportunity to seat the special guests and he was one of them. Our sympathy to all of you.

Every patient touches you in some way but the class and dignity that Marlen showed when facing his own death will stick with me for a long time. He liked to challenge me in the office sometimes but that is a good thing for a patient to do.
