Our deepest condolences to all of Marjorie’s family.
Marjorie was my piano teacher for 12 years. She didn’t just teach me how to “play” piano, she taught me the “joy” of music.
I have so many fond memories of the time I got to spend with her. She was always so encouraging. Even when I had not practiced my lesson enough, she would kindly say “you have got the cake made Stephen – now its time to put on the icing”. What a kind, patient, talented, mentor.
Ray and Eloise Hagerman
We offer our sincere sympathy on the passing of your loved one, and our friend, Marjorie. We planned to attend the visitation on Monday but Ray had a health problem. We had an appointment at the time of the funeral on Tuesday but were thinking of your family during the time of the service.

I am so sad to hear that Marjorie passed away. I will always remember the time I spent with Marjorie when she played the organ at Hopper Hockey. I was always amazed that no matter what the special request hymn was– she knew how to play it! Marjorie would share stories with me of the house that I owned at the time, that once belonged to her sister Mary Kerslake.
She will be missed….
Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers,

Jayne Rowcliffe
Our deepest condolences to all of Marjorie’s family. As a previous piano student of Marjorie’s, I believe she taught us more than just piano. She loved to teach us about nature and often sent home sprigs of this and that to try to grow at home. The white lilac bush sent home many years ago still smells so beautiful every spring.
She taught us how to be good to our community with generosity and much kindness. She enjoyed showing everyone her talent from artwork to sewing. Sidney and Mitchell quite enjoyed her apple people creations.
She had a knack for children and took time to make each child feel special in their own way. I remember a cookie or two before and after lessons. She would take time to listen to Mitchell play the toy guitar and told him someday he would be a star! One time Sidney said ” I like to play piano but really like most to visit with Marjorie”. We will play on Marjorie and remember all the wonderful things you have taught us.
Jayne, Chris, Sidney and Mitchell Rowcliffe

I am one of Marjorie’s piano students. I liked going to Marjorie’s because she always made me feel welcome. I liked playing duets together with Marjorie at the end of every lesson. I remember the time Marjorie showed me the Kill Deere in the laneway and another time a groundhog under the front porch. I will continue to learn piano and know that Marjorie is playing along with me in heaven.
I will miss you Marjorie

SIDNEY J. ROWCLIFFE
I am one of Marjorie’s piano students. I liked going to her house because she always made me feel welcome. My favorite thing about piano was after lessons we would play fun duets together. I remember the time Marjorie showed me the Killdeere on the laneway and the groundhog under the front porch. I will continue to learn piano and know that Marjorie will be playing along with me in heaven.
I will remember you Marjorie,
Sidney Rowcliffe

We’re so sorry to hear of Marjorie’s passing. I knew her from the time I was five and began taking piano lessons from her which I continued until I was about 18. She certainly was a very talented musician and taught me, and I’m sure many others, much about music. We were honoured to have her play at our wedding a few years ago. I’ll never forget her ability to play the piano ‘backwards’! Marjorie, you will be dearly missed by many! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

We would like to pass on our sympathy to the family. We still remember our piano lessons as children and have some of our books here to look back through. We were not able to master the instrument 1/100th as good as Marjorie despite her trying to teach us each week. Her happy spirit and ability to laugh and smile will be missed in the community along with her ability to play the piano backwards. We will miss seeing her out and about at church and throughout the community.
Love

My deepest sympathies to all the family of Marjorie. I met Marjorie through Presbytery, and one of my earliest memories was her playing during the worship services. I assumed she was just part of the executive and this was her ‘position’ as a Presbyter.
