To : Jerry’s family from Cecil and Ruby Hillier –Thinking of you and family. Praying for peace as you grieve. Yesterday a friend called to tell us of Jerry’s passing . That same day I was cleaning up some papers and found a thank you card from you to Murray and Ann Neilson who invited you to Cecil’s graduation party. I don’t believe in coinstances. God is gracious and kind. All of your family have been a blessing to us. Memories about the tent in our back yard for Doug’s wedding. Another one when we were away and the boys decided to have a party which backfired and they had to come to your place -next door to us and ask Jerry to take control. The enjoyable time we had a lovely roast beef dinner at your house. the skating rink – the walks with our dog Buffy – out past your barn. Going to a women’s meeting with his mom at the Salvation Army in St. Mary’s . Also working with your family with your tent company. Just enjoying wonderful people and neighbors – My sister’s children from Newfoundland visiting and playing with yours and telling me how they liked that . I believe Jerry was a beautiful Christian man and is now with our Lord. He will be missed – Blessings.

My heart is broken for Joan and her family. Jerry was like a brother to John and me. So many years, so many memories. A cherished friendship that spanned more than 50 years. Jerry was a great cop, a best friend, loving husband and dad who always put his family first. He was a truly wonderful man. I miss him already and always will. God bless you Joan as you get through the difficult days ahead. Remember I am always here for you. You are in my prayers.
Tracey Coward
What a beautiful man he was. I have many fond memories of fun times with Uncle Jerry and Aunt Joan, being tucked into their bed, along with my siblings while our parents visited. Riding on the back of his snowmobile. Days at the beach. Always with the movie camera. Hearing him and Dad laughing their heads off as they shared stories from work. Uncle Jerry will always have a special place in my heart. He always had time for me, was always kind and smiling his big beautiful smile. Aunt Joan, my heart aches for you. Kathy and Jeff and families, I know this will be a huge loss for you. When I was visiting him the other night, he spoke about his family with such love and pride. Aunt Joan, he told me how he loved to look at you, and marvelled at how you were more beautiful every day and how deeply he loved you. I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to say goodbye to this very special man.

Dear Joan, our deepest condolences for Jerry, a dear friend since high school. He was such a kind and generous guy! We always enjoyed conversations with him. His quick wit and stories were always so interesting. My most memorable time with him was in May of this year when I arrived an hour early for our girls’ get together! Being such a gracious host, he told me to get a drink and come and sit outside with him, while Joan finished preparations for our luncheon.
We spent an hour talking and laughing…… I will always cherish that time with him.
