Hi
I sent this off to the rest of the family as knew Mary was known to many. Received this back so thought I would send on.
Sorry for your loss.
Anne
Thanks Anne — I have very good memories of Mary back in the 70s and 80s. Tom and I used to visit her — and then subsequently Dad and I because they remained great friends. They shared a birthday as you may have noticed and I think they used to “pals” back in earlier days — whatever that meant!
She was a terrific person — who used to knit socks for Peter Gzowski (among other accomplishments) and was frequently mentioned on his show. That made her a celebrity in my mind.
There can’t have been many Seaforth girls going to U of T — and in science, no less — in the ‘30s.

To Mary&&single&&s family – Please accept my sympathy on the passing of your mother. She was a very special lady who I met at the Huron Tract guild when I moved to Mitchell many years ago. Our Christmas meetings at her place were a wonderful experience, and I learned to braid a rug at a workshop Mary did for guild members. She was always interested in projects we were doing, and as long as she was able never missed an open house or a show and sale. It was obvious that she had a love of nature, and what a welcome those daffodils provided each spring! I feel blessed to have known her.

My sincere condolences to Mary&&single&&s family during this difficult time,She will be missed by all at the Manor. She was a quiet yet very knowledgeable woman when you got her talking about a subject dear to her heart. She also had a great sense of humor when you would least expect it that head would raise and out of that wide smirky smile would come a funny comment from the lady you didn&&single&&t think was listening!!I will miss that smile.Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. One Breathe. One Tear,One Step at a time.Rose
