Robert “Rob” passed peacefully with family by his side on August 26, 2023 at Jessica’s House at the age of 58. He is survived by his beloved wife Shellie McLeod of 21 years. He was a beloved father to Ryan Masse, Kyle Masse (Anne), Mathew Masse (Emily Scott), and step-father to Jake McLeod and Jenna McLeod. He was a loving Poppa to Addy and Ben, Lukas and William, Violet, Mathew and Ivy. He is survived by his siblings Carol Prang, Sharon Romphf (Terry), Pat Masse (Connie), Barb Reschke (Bob), mother-in-law Sharon McLeod, sister-in-law Wendy McLeod-Haggitt (Greg) and brother-in-law Nick McLeod. He was a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.
He is pre-deceased by his parents John Leo Paul “Bill” Masse (1996) and Ethel Marie (Dinney) Masse (2019), siblings Kenneth Phillip “Ken” Masse (2023), brothers-in-law Larry McCarthy, Ed Prang, and great-nephew Jackson Masse, and father-in-law Jim McLeod.
Rob will be remembered as a loving father who was devoted to his family and loved every moment he spent with them. He will be remembered for his love of NASCAR, his gardens, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren. “Bob” will be missed by all of the littles at day care.
Cremation has taken place. A visitation celebrating Rob’s life will be held at the Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Tuesday, August 29th from 5-8 PM. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 11 AM at the Crediton Cemetery, 40 Victoria Avenue West, Crediton.
The family would like to express deep thanks to the staff at Jessica’s House and SE Health for their compassionate care. A special thank you to Cassie Parsons for her exceptional care over the last two and half years. Thank you to Rob’s friends Bill Bastiaanfen and Dale Grant for all the support given during this time.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you to consider a donation in Rob’s name to Jessica’s House or SE Foundation.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

I want to offer condolences to you all.
I was great friends with Ethel and we lived across the road from each other raising our children. We were at each others houses for morning coffee probably 4 out of 7 mornings and having each others kids running in and out of each others houses. Ken was over more then Rob because he was my son Mike’s age but Rob was my daughter Joann’s age. I remember them all playing outside a game called cat and mouse ,screaming and running around the house to the big willow tree in the center yard which was home base.
. All our kids on Center street were friends , the Stires, Davis, Becker and Salmons. It was a time when we looked out for each others children. My heart goes out to the family and Rob’s wife and children and their families.
Both Ken and Rob way to young to be gone from this earth.

I grew up across the road from the Masse’s so knew Rob when we were all just skinny kids. He was the baby of the family and more my sister’s age so she knew him better. Shellie’s mom lives just down the street from me now so I would see him over there during the years helping out once Jim had passed coming over and cutting the grass every week.
