Suddenly, as a result of a fall at home, on Monday, June 26, 2023 of Seaforth, formerly of Hensall at the age of 30. Lovingly remembered by his future wife Shae van Haarlem, and his boys Maverick and Goose. Proud son of Peggy (Hay) and the late Ralph Mathonia (2018). Cherished brother of Rob and Lindsay Mathonia, Mandy Mathonia and Chris Arnold, Stacey and Matt Kerslake, and Brooke Mathonia and Jarrett Baker. Fun uncle Dusty of Caiden, Cohen; Bennett, Mia; Kaisley, Graelyn; Nolan, and Oliver. Dear grandson of Gordon and Jeanne Hay, and the late George and the late Maria Mathonia. Fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Dustin was a lover of the outdoors, he and Shae enjoyed taking their dogs out for a hike. He was also a fan of anything fast, but specifically his old cars. Dustin was always a hard worker and would be there to lend a helping hand. His house in Seaforth was a destination for those near and far as he was known for his yearly Christmas decorations. Above all, he enjoyed the time spent with his nieces, nephews, and his family. Because of Dustin’s passion for helping others, and through organ donation, his fun-loving, energetic spirit will live on in the lives of 7 others.
A celebration of Dustin’s life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 456 Main Street South, EXETER on Friday from 3 – 6 PM, where words of remembrance will be held at 5 PM. Private family interment St. Boniface Cemetery on the Bronson Line.
Donations to the Tanner Steffler Foundation or Jessica’s House would be appreciated by the family.
We are always willing to go where called upon but this image shows a visual of the communities that our included in our initial transportation fee. We offer a 40km radius from any of our 5 locations (Arva (London), Exeter, Lucan, Seaforth, and Zurich). Any mileage beyond the included 40km will be charged a rate of $2.50/km (one way travel only).

We are so incredibly sad to hear of Dusty’s passing.
As neighbours we moved in to our new homes at the same time.
Our young kiddos and renos kept us very busy at the beginning, but this past spring we had started to get to know Dusty and Shae a little better and had looked forward to being able to share a property line and quite a few beers for many future years to come.
We had not known our new neighbour long but the first thing we noticed about Dusty was how much of an incredibly hard worker he was and how he seemed to know how to do just about anything that involved his hands.
We had already asked him for advice on several things that we had yet to learn and he didn’t hesitate for a second before offering his help with any of it.
We also could not have been bigger fans of the great tunes always coming from their backyard anytime he was working away or celebrating that the work was done. It always kept the kids dancing and us bopping along with it.
This neighborhood on the hill will not be the same without him.
