October 8, 1920 – October 9, 2022
McKeen, Jean (Smith) (Sleight) passed away peacefully at Chartwell Parkhill Long Term Care Residence, formerly of London Township, at the age of 102. Beloved wife of the late Gordon McKeen (2011) and the late Gilbert Sleight (1992). Loving mother of Fred (Merna) Sleight, Martha (Rick) Ponting, Doreen (Don) Foster, Evan Sleight, and John McKeen. Special Grandma to Allison, Lyndsey, Kristen, Scott, Matthew, Rob, and Lori. Jean was also proud to be a Great-Grandma to 15 grandchildren. Predeceased by her brother Walter (Barbara) Smith and sisters, Bernice (Keith) Arnold, and Verna (Ken) Jeffrey.
Jean was an avid animal and nature lover. We will miss her endless strength, determination and devotion to her family and faith.
A private family service will be held at St. George’s Anglican Church, London Township with interment to follow at the church cemetery.
A special thank you to the staff at Chartwell Parkhill for their exceptional care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask you to consider donation to Chartwell Parkhill Retirement Home or a charity of your choice.

To the Family:
Offering our sincere condolences to you and your families at this sad time on the passing of “Jean”. She filled Uncle Gordon’s life with much joy. For us the irony of their marriage was she became “Dorothy Jean McKeen” which is our mother’s name as well. Dorothy Jean (Carmichael)McKeen who was the wife of Gordon’s brother Donald McKeen.Mom and Jean had a unique friendship and often shared a laugh over having the same name.
Sincere Sympathy

To Jean’s family,
Please accept my deepest condolences. I remember Jean well from my sleep overs at the Sleight home when I was in High School. She was always so gracious, so kind, so caring and a good cook as well. Although she lived a long life, it is still never easy to say good-bye to a mother. May God comfort you in your grief. May your memories remind you of the love she gave to each of you and the joy she shared with you. Thinking of each of you. God Bless.

Don, Doreen, Fred, Merna and families:
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Jean. I have so many fond memories over the years of her at church with us in Ilderton. My kids used to think it was fun to go and sit with her on random Sundays and she thought it was the best thing going!
My mom would always tell me what was going on with Jean after she got off her daily calls with Doreen :)
Jean lived a good long life.. sending hugs to all of you..
