Passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 7, 2023 of Centralia, formerly of Ingersoll, at the age of 82. Loving husband of Carol (Young) Mitchell for over 40 years. Proud father of Kevin (Abby) Mitchell, Jane Townsend (Mike Vignando), Susan (Steve) Roche, Lesley (Mark) Woods, and Christopher (Valerie Molina) Stephens. Adored Papa of Andrew, Branden, Kyle, Samantha, Shasta, Vanessa, Shannon, Jack, Audrey, and Declan. Survived by his brother Sean (Carol), sisters Phyllis and Angela and sister-in-law Deanna Moxon. Predeceased by his parents Kevin and Jane (Waldron) Mitchell.
Kevin was a dedicated Lions member and enjoyed spending his time volunteering in both Exeter and Ingersoll. He always made time for a visit and loved to share stories with his family and friends. Kevin loved family get-togethers, always in charge of the kitchen. Proud of his Irish roots and equally as proud when he became a Canadian citizen 30 years ago. Kevin will be deeply missed by everyone that had the opportunity to know him.
A private family Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place and Kevin will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ingersoll.
Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Our condolences to Carol & Family, always in our thoughts.
We have such great memories of Uncle Kevin, such a mischievous sense of fun and a wonderful human being. We will miss the random butt dial calls!
Made us feel so at home on our last visit in 2018, so sorry we couldn’t get back.

Kevin was such a caring, loving and thoughtful person. Their home showed so much love and happiness in it. Carol and Kevin always worked together as one. Even with Kevin’s health issues he still marched on with his life. He was on this earth for a reason and he kept doing what he loved best. Always helping and caring for everyone. This was what Kevin enjoyed doing most of all.
I can’t thank Kevin and Carol enough for all the support and help I was given with my loss. They were both there when I needed them. Thank you for being such a great friend. I will never forget you Kevin.
I know you will still be helping everyone in heaven. Rest in peace.
Carol I am always here for you. Take care,
Shirley

Dear Carol & family. You’re both such wonderful neighbours to have. Kevin took such pride in his lawn and his dogs. It was always a pleasure to see him out and about always. His kindness and generosity did not go unnoticed. If you ever need anything you know where we are. Sending our deepest condolences to you all as you navigate this chapter.

My dear Papa,
Thank you for all the Christmases and the summer get togethers, camping in the camper and teaching me Gaelic (which I failed miserably I might add, but you just giggled anyways). Thank you for sharing your life stories and always supporting me. You are truly one of a kind papa. And I’ll never forget you. Condolences to my Nana and my family during this time. Papa will always be remembered and loved, never forgotten. I love you Papa.

Kevin always had a story and a smile to share. He had many passions, but nothing meant more to him than his family.
I will miss his Irish lilt, self-deprecating humour, and unshakeable faith.
He was an example of a life well lived, and the world is diminished without him.
Deepest condolences to Carol and those whom he loved most.

Great man, very intelligent with a wealth of knowledge about life. He was also strong and stubborn which gave him strength to refuse to give in decades ago when his heart tried to stop. It was a pleasure having him as my Father In-Law. My Condolences and Love to all the Family.
