Peacefully at his residence on July 27, 2021 of Exeter at the age of 74. Missed by his friends and family. Fondly remembered by his friends Doris Westlake and her son Doug Westlake. Doug spent his retirement enjoying many puzzles, especially those with trains. He also was the organist at the Trivitt Memorial Church, Exeter.

Like many others, i never had the opportunity to meet Doug, however felt a connection to him via the Facebook group. Thanks for the valuable insight on the city Doug!

I never met Doug in the flesh. He ran a Facebook page about Hamilton I was a part of and it was clear his deep love for the city’s history. We exchanged a few messages now and then usually about stuff on the page, and he was never anything but cordial. I suspect the many other condolences are like mine, my life touched by a man I knew only through the internet. My condolences to all his loved ones at this time.

Very saddened by Doug’s passing. Condolences to his family and all his friends from near and far. Very much enjoyed his historical photo pages he created on facebook from Hamilton to the Niagara area..brought us all a little closer to each other with a place to share our own photos as well as archived material he shared impeccably. Missing your presence Doug..rest in peace.

I regret that never took the time to meet Doug over the years as I live so close to Exeter, but I was a Hamiltonian and loved the posts Doug made on the FB page. Condolences to his friends and family.

My sincere condolences to all that had the pleasure to know Doug. He founded and administered a large Facebook group dedicated to Old Hamilton Photos , that boasts more than 10,000 members. Doug’s passion for history was amazing.
