Surrounded by the love of her family, Mary Irene (née Brown) Morey passed away at Seaforth Community Hospital, on Tuesday, November 26, 2019. In her 79 years among us Mary was a source of love and caring in the circle of her family and friends. Sunday evening suppers, with family gathered around her table, were special times that will always be remembered. Bingo, country music and puppy dogs always brought a smile to Mary’s face.
Mary will be lovingly remembered by her children Terry and Sandra Morey of Seaforth, Cheryl Durand and Kevin Witmer of Cambridge, Todd Morey and Bonnie McKee of Stratford and Denise and Joe Rempson of Morristown, New Jersey. Cherishing memories of a much loved grandma are grandchildren Nicole, Cassie and Dave, Tyler, Elise and Tony, Ginelle and Kent, Andre and Emma, Rachelle, Blake, Peter, Caitlin, Jordan and 5 great grandchildren. Mary will also be fondly remembered by her sister Flora Muir and siblings-in-law June Germann, Tom and Joyce Morey and Barb and Andy McLean.
Mary was predeceased by her husband Oscar Morey (1998), her sister Jessie Bennewies and her parents James and Catherine (née Doig) Brown.
Honouring Mary’s wishes, cremation will take place. Memorial visitation will take place at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, Seaforth on Friday, November 29, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. Private family interment will take place in Egmondville Cemetery at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to Seaforth Community Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

What a shock to see Mary’s smiling face looking back at me on this website! I called Dad immediately and he is sorry for the loss of his cousin, Mary, and offers his sincere sympathy to the family and circle of friends that Mary was the center of. I too will miss her cheery demeanor and her visits to the golf course for lunch with Flora. We always joked about fish and chips in the old barn! To all of the Morey family my sincerest sympathy at this time.
