I have been mourning Ann Marie all week, since I heard of her death, but having talked with some of her friends from her former Loretto community, and remembering her beauty and her laughter, I am rejoicing for her as she goes home to the God she loved all her life. We entered the Loretto community together in September, 1957, and we kept up, and met occasionally, after she transferred to the Poor Clare Sisters. She was much loved by all of us, and I express my deepest condolences to her sister, Betty, and all Ann Marie’s family. We shall miss her, but she was a gift in my life, and her wonderful smile will be with me forever. I am grateful.

Dear Betty and family and friends of Ann Marie, I send my condolences on your loss. I lived with Ann Marie in Vancouver and I have wonderful memories of her. She was a loving, generous and joyful person. We shared many a fun time. She was a talented artist and also a great cook along with her empathetic presence to many. Her laugh still echoes in my memory. I pray she is surrounded by the peace and love of God . May you receive the loving presence of God as you grieve her loss.

Dear Betty and family
We are sorry to hear of the death of Ann Marie who had been ‘one of us’ as a member of the Loretto Sisters for many years before joining the Poor Clare Sisters. Some of us had the chance to live with Ann Marie as I did in Vancouver when we taught at Corpus Christi school. Our condolences on your loss and promise of prayers for her and your family. May you be sustained by wonderful memories of this gentle woman. Jane McDonell ibvm

My sincere condolences to my Rooney family, keep her memories close to your hearts. I will always remember you so fondly Auntie Mimi. I will never forget visiting you at Poor Clare’s in Duncan BC with Mom, Jeannie Manuncia and Aunt Wendy in 2009, I couldn’t believe how our facial features were so similar like twins. And to think I now live in Duncan BC. Rest in heavenly peace Auntie Mimi and give Dad and my Mom and Gam a big hug for me. <3
