We both have good memories of a great French teacher (and a very brave chaperone on our grade 10 train trip to Quebec). From time to time we bumped into your mom at church and social functions and she always was interested in what we were up to. More than once I picked her out in the congregation and greeted her in the little bit of “francois” that I have retained. She encouraged many with her cheery outlook from the vantage point of a long and full and fruitful life. We share your loss.

Dear Barb, Nancy & Betty and all your family,
I was sorry to read of the passing of your Mom, but always took great delight in her throughout the years, whenever our paths crossed at Church and community functions. She was an amazing lady who made an impression on me first as our Lucan United Church Junior Choir leader, and more recently with her inspiring words at the final service in Lucan as the Church amalgamated with Granton. She spoke of her faith and love of the Church and what it meant to her. May happy memories of your wonderful Mom eventually replace the painful loss you are all feeling now.

Dear Betty, Nancy and Barb;
Please accept my deepest sympathy at this time. Your mom was a very special lady as you already must know. I knew her from our times together at the local united church services. She used to come to every service and bring a carload of ladies with her. One winter’s day she arrived at our church in Centralia, with her car load of ladies and one lady had a hat with her. The lady put it in the hymn book holder in front of her and your mother very nicely told her that if she left it there, she would probably forget it, so why not set it beside her purse. But the lady did not change her mind. Your mom dropped each lady off at their home following the service and lo and behold, the one with the hat had no hat. So after dropping all the rest of the ladies off in Lucan, your mother drove all the way back to Centralia to get the hat for this woman. Fortunately there were still two of us left at the church and I was able to help her get the hat, as well as have a nice conversation with her. That was the kind of person your mom was – kind, helpful, generous, gracious, giving, a wonderful lady. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. God Bless.
Ron Sillick
Jessie Sillick sends her condolences to the Park family. Jessie is a life-long friend of Marj, starting at Teeswater Public School. Jessie, now at Braemar Retirement Residence in Wingham, enjoyed visits and phone calls with Marj and will miss those.
