My condolences to Sue and family and Al’s family. I am deeply saddened by the passing of my buddy Al. We worked together for several years at FedEx and became very good friends. I was there for you and you were there for me, true friends are hard to find and I’m glad that you were one of mine. Rest peacefully Al, spend time with your horses and crack an ice cold Bud!! I will miss you and cherish the time we spent together not too long ago.

the lord spoke to the heavy hearts that stood hats in hand. Your sadness pains me deeply and I know you’ll miss this man. But it’s true what you’ve been hearing, heaven is a real place. And heaven for a cowboy is just what you might expect, It’s horses that need tuning up and heifers that need checked. It’s long rides with purpose and a code that lights the way. And a satisfying reason to get up every day. The leather creaks a little as he shifts there in the seat. the bit chains give a jingle when his pony switches feet. And you somehow get the feeling that he’s sitting on a throne. A gazing out on a paradise just like it was his own. So I offer this small comfort to put your grief to rest .I only take top hands cause my crew’s the very best. And I know it might be selfish to friends and next of kin. But I needed one more cowboy and Al just fit right in. All of Exeter saddle club will miss you.

My heart was broken to hear of Al’s illness and passing.
Al and I gamed together in the late 60’s, early 70’s as teenagers. We went our separate ways and reconnected at ” The cowboy reunion” a couple of years ago. It was so great to see faces of old friends and to meet Sue. I had hoped we could meet again and maybe ride together some day ,but covid had other plans with no reunion last year. ….. maybe in the next life.
Reading all the tributes tells me what a wonderful person Al was and how much people loved and respected him.
My sincere condolences to Al’s entire family.

There are too few words left to heal us, when what we wish for is to be carried, when all we have left is the hope that tomorrow will be a more gentle place to land than today.
As we enter the chute to run that cloverleaf pattern, we will forever remember Al. We will carry him in our hearts, our souls and in our shared passion as we turn each can as fast as we can.
Patty Masnica

My heart is broken, and words cannot express my overwhelming sense of loss. Hugs and condolences going out to Al’s family and loved ones… Al, as per our last visit, I have written this for you….
Three barrels they left standing.
Six poles all in line.
The keyhole they left untouched,
All in winning time.
About mid day, their favorite class,
Two barrels, a stick, one turn.
The flag race we’d come to know, this team would kick our ass.
Al Parsons and John Christopher had come to win this race,
Whenever this team was called, we knew they’d set the pace.
With hat pushed down and feet locked in, the sound of thundering hooves,
We felt the earth beneath us quake, as JC came through the gate.
Al grabbed the flag with such ease, and JC made the turn,
Looking up they saw a light that no one would see.
Stride by stride they crossed the line, the two of them were one.
Homeward they had been called, this was their final run.
John Christopher was first to go, across the rainbow bridge.
In lush green grass, and waters clear, he has waited on that ridge.
Today, with Roy singing in the background and a Budweiser in his hand,
Al has gone to meet JC, in the promised land.
This circle of life is now complete, these two again, are one.
And with hat pushed down and feet locked in, the sound of thundering hooves,
Through the heavens above, this team will run, with the wind beneath their feet.
Ride my dear friend, ride…Love Jo
Agnes Timmermans
