Passed away peacefully at LHSC – Victoria Hospital with family by her side on February 16, 2020, at the age of 61. Beth was born in London, Ontario on September 15, 1958, to parents Albert and Irene ‘Rene’ (Gould) Patterson. Beth was the much-loved wife of Louise Stonehouse. She is survived by her dear sister Laura Thompson (John), and brother Bruce Player (Judy). Missed by her nieces Buffy (Darrel), and Bobbie (Shawn), nephews Randy, Daniel (Poppy), and Ian Philip, and great-nephews Jacob, and Caleb. Beth was a second mom to Michelle (Arno) and ‘Ice Cream Beth’ to Kaitlin, Audrey and Ben, second mom to Mark and second Grandma to Lily and Marshall. Predeceased by her sister Pat Robinson, and her brother Bill Patterson.
Beth had a big heart full of generosity and compassion. She was a good listener, had great wisdom and was a lot of fun to be around. She spent most of her life in the service of others. As a social worker, she worked for Canadian Mental Health Association for 34 years; a caregiver and mentor to many.
A Celebration of Beth’s Life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, LUCAN on Saturday, March 14th from 2 – 4 PM. Cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers and honouring Beth’s career, donations to Canadian Mental Health Association Middlesex – Exeter Site would be greatly appreciated.

Beth’s legacy will be seen and felt for years to come in the many people she has helped and her contribution to making our system better. She was a tireless advocate and so incredibly kind.

I am very sadden to read about the passing of Beth. She was a very kind lady, and really had a wonderful sense of humor. A very genuine person; someone who was pleasant; and the most down to Earth person you could meet. You will be missed.

Louise and family, please accept my condolences. I am truly sorry for your loss!
Our community has lost a great woman who made mental illness a priority. Beth made it her life’s work to destigmatize and dispel myths surrounding those with mental illness. For that, I salute you and Beth for making life more tolerable for those who have been marginalized in our community.
As a solider of peace and unrelenting advocacy- thank you Beth!
With sincere sympathy!

Dear Louise and Family,
We were shocked to hear of the passing of Beth. She was always such a friendly lady and took the time to ask anyone how they were doing. Our mom, Linda, has always spoken very highly of Beth and viewed her as a boss, coworker, and most importantly, a friend. She will be missed by many throughout the community. We hope that the memories with her and the love of those around you, bring you some comfort during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with you.
