Debra Ann Nash was born in London on February 11, 1953. She married Gordon Phillips on January 19, 1974 and they have four beautiful children together: Amanda, Niki, Toby and Jesse.
Amanda and Don (Poppe) married in 1991 and also went on to have four children: Jordan, Justin (Hayley), Ryan and Grayce. Jordan’s children, Joesph and Timmy, are Deb’s first great-grandchildren.
Niki and Scott (Saunders) married in 1996 and have three children: Brad (Jolene), Teresa and Darcey. Brad and Jolene’s daughter, Paisley, is Deb’s third great-grandchild and her first great-granddaughter.
Toby and Angela (DeGroot) married in 2006 and have three children: Kiefer, Makinlee and Jessika. All at home.
Gord and Deb’s daughter, Jesse, passed away at eleven months and is still dearly loved and deeply missed.
Deb is survived by her mother, Eileen Nash and her brother, Bob Nash and his wife Sharon. Deb is predeceased by her father, Ron Nash and her brother, also Ron Nash.
Deb is also predeceased by her beloved mother in law, Mara and her father in law, Stu (Phillips) and her son in law, Don Poppe.
Deb was a kind and beautiful person, who was deeply loved by her family, friends and community. She worked at the hospital switchboard and dispatch for over sixteen years. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone and will be missed by all, and by many. Her family was her greatest treasure. Her goal in life was to be a wife and mother. She nailed it. The legacy of love she leaves behind is beyond words to describe but, suffice it to say, she was the most beautiful of humans and the very best wife and mother the world has to offer. We celebrate her life and her legacy of love. She is our greatest treasure.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, 87 Goderich Street West, SEAFORTH on Monday, March 27th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Registration is preferred, however all are welcome. Please click “Register Now” below, to register.

So sorry to hear of Debbie’s passing. We were fortunate to meet up at a restaurant in Wingham a couple of years ago when she was in the Walkerton area having furniture refinished. It was so good to get caught up on her life as the Forsyth connection dwindled with the passing of many of the older generation. I have many memories of her when she was young as my late husband Jack (Eileen’s brother) was her godfather. She was a delight then as I’m sure she continued to be as an adult.
