It is with a saddened heart that i write this message. I knew John through “Katie” at the Thames Road Vet Clinic where he brought her for any health care and food she needed. John was the sweetest and my absolute favourite client as is (Katie)…he always had a smile on his face and a story to tell. He always took a minute to chat about the weather, the cottage or farming. I am confident in saying that John will be fondly remembered and missed by all the staff at the Thames Road Vet Clinic. Our thoughts are with you at this sad time. I can not help but reminisce about all the times we spent together.
I read the stories about playing on wagons of wheat and I realize his life was shared with many.
I spoke to Marilyn last night and we talked about all the acres of white beans John and I walked together; she called it child labour I think I call it getting to understand what a true mentor is really all about.
My prayers go out to Marilyn, Pauline, Dennis, Cindy Stephen and Cindy as you will miss him the most.
John has always been a true inspiration to my life and I know that he will continue to be for many years to come.

Marilyn and family,
We are so sorry to hear of John’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.We only knew him for a few days but in those days we got to know a very wonderful man. He always greeted us with a friendly hello and a smile on his face. While he was in the hospital he was our informer. He would always let us know how our dad did during the night. We shared a few stories and had a few laughs. He was a very nice, kind and loving man. You could tell he loved and was very proud of his family by the stories he told. He will be missed by everyone that knew him.

Dear Marilyn, Pauline, Dennis and Steve and families. My mom informed me of John’s passing and I wanted to extend my sincerest condolences to you all. John was a great and funny guy. I never saw him without a smile on his face. He and the rest of your family were always there to help my dad out on the farm and were the best neighbours that anyone could ask for. We all spent lots of time back and forth at each others homes growing up and our dads, and later your sons worked well together. My dad, as well as the rest of our family always thought the world of John. I miss the old days of riding on the seed drill, and playing in the hopper wagons full of wheat!! John will be missed by many, but no one more than all of you. Treasure your memories as we will…neighbours.

Aunt Marilyn & family, Mark and I are deeply saddened to hear of Uncle John’s passing. I myself have so many great memories over the years. Him teasing Kristin and taking all the olives, giving her a jar of her own for Christmas!!! Having us all up to the farm for a week-end and going snowmobiling, being at the sugar bush or the cottage. The one memory that sticks out is when I learnt to play card game Hearts-he always would say to me “one little heart will never hurt anyone”! Today my heart is hurting!!! Sending everyone hugs and we will see you on Tuesday.
